Deep Condolences at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, UIN Malang: Head of the PSPD Study Program Remembers the Student in a Joint Prayer

Rock – A feeling of emotion enveloped the extended family of the Medical Education Study Program (PSPD) of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FKIK) at UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang on Friday evening (May 1, 2026). Hundreds of academics, from lecturers and staff to fellow students, gathered in a virtual space to hold a prayer and tahlil (remembrance of God) in memory of the passing of one of its best students, Ibra Setiawan, class of 2024.

The sad news, received at 1:00 PM WIB (Western Indonesian Time), came as a complete shock to everyone. The deceased was pronounced dead at 11:47 AM WIB. This sudden incident has left the entire FKIK UIN Malang family deeply saddened.

In her emotional remarks, the Head of the PSPD Study Program, Dr. drg. Risma Aprinda Kristanti, M.Si., expressed her deep sense of loss. She recounted the university's utmost efforts when the deceased received initial medical treatment at Karsahusada Hospital. In fact, thanks to the Dean's swift coordination, the deceased received more intensive treatment at Saiful Anwar Hospital (RSSA) in Malang.

“"We have done our best, through cross-sectoral coordination within the faculty and intensive medical assistance at RSSA. However, God's will is absolute. We send off Ibra with pride in his passing, a figure known as a highly dedicated student," said Dr. Risma in her remarks.

Dr. Risma also expressed her deepest appreciation to all parties—the lecturers, administrative staff, and fellow students—who had shown extraordinary solidarity from the time the deceased was admitted to the evening prayer service. She emphasized that the strength of brotherhood within the FKIK community is invaluable in difficult times like these.

“"Thank you to the entire FKIK family for your continuous moral and spiritual support. May the bereaved family be granted extraordinary fortitude and strength of faith in accepting His destiny," he added.

The essence of the evening's activities was the implementation of tahlil together, praying that the late Ibra Setiawan would get the best place by His side, good ending, and all his deeds of worship are accepted by Allah SWT.

At the end of her remarks, Dr. Risma delivered an important message to all PSPD students. She encouraged them to always be vigilant, especially regarding their safety while driving. She emphasized that in every step and academic activity, maximum effort must always be accompanied by prayer and submission to Allah SWT.

“"Let this event serve as a reminder for all of us to always be careful and stay safe. Let us use the deceased's enthusiasm for learning as motivation to continue achieving and benefiting others," he concluded with a closing prayer that touched the hearts of all attendees.

May the deceased get the best paradise in the sight of Allah SWT, and the family left behind will always be in His protection.
