Malang (October 10, 2025) – The Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FKIK) of the State Islamic University of Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang held an activity OBE Curriculum Document Updating Workshop Towards International RecognitionOn Friday, October 10, 2025, at the Mini Hall on the 3rd floor of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FKIK). This activity is part of the faculty's strategic efforts to strengthen its student-based learning system. Outcome-Based Education (OBE) and prepare the curriculum towards international recognition.

This workshop was attended by around 30 lecturers from various elements of the faculty, including the Head and Secretary of Study Programs, Curriculum Unit, Medical and Health Profession Education Unit (UMHPE), Faculty Excellence Unit, Science and Islamic Integration Unit, as well as the preparatory team for the opening of the Master of Biomedical Sciences and Master of Pharmacy Study Programs.

The activity was opened with a welcome speech and presentation of the agenda by Dr. dr. Ermin Rachmawati, M. Biomed., as the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at UIN Malang and the person in charge of the activity. In his remarks, he emphasized the importance of aligning the faculty curriculum with the OBE principles, which emphasize graduate learning outcomes. He believes that an adaptive, outcomes-based curriculum will strengthen the Faculty's position in addressing the challenges of health education in the global era.

“"Updating the OBE-based curriculum is not just about preparing administrative documents, but also about how we ensure that each course and learning process can produce competent, superior, and internationally recognized graduates," said Dr. Ermin in his remarks.

In the next session, Dr. Tias Pramesti Griana, M. Biomed. deliver a presentation draft The Hajj Health curriculum, which is one of the unique strengthening components of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences of UIN Malang, supports the vision of integrating Islamic science and global health. The presentation was continued by Nur Toifah, M.Pd., which discusses the design draft The Science and Islam Integration curriculum, a unique approach of UIN Malang which aims to combine spiritual, scientific, and professional aspects in the educational process.

After the presentation session, the activity continued with a group discussion involving all participants. Each group focused on compiling a Graduate Profile, Graduate Learning Outcomes (CPL), study materials, and Course Learning Outcomes (CPMK) tailored to their respective fields. The discussion process was active and productive, reflecting inter-institutional collaboration within the faculty, oriented toward developing an integrated, high-standard curriculum.

The workshop resulted in the creation of a number of important documents that serve as a foundation for developing an OBE-based curriculum within the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences. These included the preparation of Graduate Profile, CPL, and CPMK, which integrate two main components: Hajj Health and the Integration of Science and Islam. These two components are expected to be the hallmarks of FKIK UIN Malang, producing graduates who are not only academically and professionally competent but also possess strong Islamic values.

This compilation covers four active study programs at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FKIK): the Undergraduate Program in Pharmacy, the Pharmacist Professional Education, the Medical Education Program, and the Medical Professional Program. Furthermore, this workshop also provided a crucial opportunity to prepare for two new study programs: the Master of Biomedical Sciences and the Master of Pharmacy, which will soon be proposed for launch. Therefore, the workshop's findings provide a strategic foundation for the faculty to continue improving academic quality and expanding its reach to international recognition.

Dr. Ermin Rachmawati emphasized that the follow-up to this activity will not stop at document preparation alone, but will also include verification, synchronization between study programs, and strengthening collaboration with external partners, including accreditation agencies and foreign educational institutions. "We want to ensure that the FKIK curriculum not only meets national standards but is also able to compete internationally while maintaining Islamic and Indonesian values," she said.

Through this activity, the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FKIK) of UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang demonstrated its commitment to realizing a superior, globally oriented education system rooted in Islamic values. This workshop is concrete evidence of the faculty's efforts to realize UIN Malang's vision as a The International University with Islamic Character, while emphasizing the role of FKIK in producing competent, moral health workers who are ready to face the challenges of the modern world.
