Malang, December 4, 2025 Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FKIK) UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang held Socialization of the Ortaker Vision-Mission, Education Guidelines, Research, PKM, Roadmap and New Branding which was carried out in a hybrid manner The event took place at the Ar-Rahim Building, Campus 3, and was held online via Zoom. This event is a strategic step in strengthening the FKIK's partnership network with various healthcare institutions to improve the quality of education, research, and community service. The event was also attended by PT Biozatix, BBKK (in person), the Surabaya Hajj Dormitory Technical Implementation Unit (UPT), the BRIN Biomedical Research Center represented by Mrs. Wiwit and Prof. Sunarno, the Kordik of Lawang Mental Hospital (RSJ Lawang), and representatives from Balai Materia Medika, marking a collaborative commitment to the future academic and clinical development of FKIK.

In his remarks, Vice Rector III of UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang emphasized the importance of the Faculty of Medicine's uniqueness and differentiation compared to other healthcare institutions. He stated that the community service program needs to strengthen the faculty's core characteristic, namely the development of Hajj medicine as a superior competency. He also conveyed the mandate from the Rector of UIN Malang that FKIK remain oriented towards service, targeting Islamic boarding schools as strategic partners in implementing future community services.

In the socialization, the Vice Dean 1 for Academic Affairs, Dr. dr. Ermin Rachmawati, M.Biomed. emphasized that this socialization is expected to be the foundation so that FKIK can take a real role in the community. "This socialization is expected to enable FKIK to take an important role for the community," he said. In addition to introducing FKIK to external partners through the delivery of the vision and mission to the Roadmap of FKIK UIN Malang, this activity also serves as a forum for discussion to accommodate suggestions and hopes from stakeholders or external partners to realize the targeted vision and mission.

One of the topics discussed was strengthening ties with the healthcare sector, a key focus. The representative from the Director of Karsa Husada Hospital (RSKH) expressed his hopes for the future contribution of FKIK graduates. "We hope FKIK graduates can bring increased prosperity and dignity to the healthcare sector. With the continued development of FKIK, we hope the relationship between RSKH and FKIK will also strengthen," he said.

Meanwhile, the Director of the Malang City Regional General Hospital highlighted the significant opportunities for collaborative research and development of FKIK's unique expertise in Hajj medicine. "As partners, we hope to foster strong research collaboration. The unique characteristics of Hajj medicine offer significant potential for further development and promotion," he said.

Responding to this, Dr. dr. Ermin Rachmawati, M.Biomed. reiterated that FKIK has actively played a role in organizing Hajj health through the program. Hajj Interprofessional Education (HIPE), namely student involvement from the waiting period to the embarkation process and also collaborating with the Batu Ministry of Religion, Batu Hospital, Malang Hospital, and various other agencies.

Support also came from the Batu City Ministry of Religious Affairs, which appreciated FKIK's contribution in assisting Hajj pilgrims. "We feel very supported since the Hajj waiting period. Although we no longer handle Hajj, we still have a mission in Islamic boarding schools. We hope this collaboration will continue in that direction," said a representative from the Ministry of Religious Affairs.

In the mental health sector, Dr. Radjiman Lawang Mental Hospital (RSJ) is also opening up opportunities for broad collaboration. "Services at the mental hospital now extend beyond mental health to include pulmonary, neurology, ENT, pediatric surgery, and other areas. We are ready to partner in research, including the development of halal products based on herbal plants," he explained. The Malang and Batu City Health Offices highlighted opportunities for developing Islamic boarding school health services and halal products. They emphasized the importance of supporting halal standard operating procedures (SOPs) and preparing laboratory facilities. nutrition facts, technology education and digital literacy, and potential collaboration with industry. Lack of nutrition laboratories to meet the needs of nutrition facts in Malang, it opens up a large space for research collaboration and development of halal food analysis facilities.

Representatives of community health center heads within the Malang and Batu City Health Offices expressed their support for the involvement of FKIK students in public health services. "The number of Hajj pilgrims is small, but there are many students, so we need improved communication and accommodation support, especially for health and managerial training to help students become more adaptable. Despite the challenges, this activity has been very helpful," he said.

In an online delivery session, the Surabaya Hajj Dormitory UPT expressed its appreciation for the contribution of FKIK. "PPKK has an extraordinary role in supporting Hajj services at the UIN Malang Hajj Dormitory. We hope this sustainability can be maintained until 2026, especially with the increase in Perkasi participants from 90 to 116 people. The participation of FKIK students is very important to continue to be involved, including expanding assistance for Hajj and Umrah pilgrims," he said. Meanwhile, BPKK representatives also emphasized the great benefits of student involvement in organizing the Hajj. "FKIK students are always ready to help with the Hajj preparation process, and their presence is truly felt by us. Hopefully, this good collaboration can continue to be maintained and developed," he said.

From the pharmaceutical services sector, Viva Apotek through Pharmacist Rizkiya also added its support. “"UIN students dominate and make significant contributions to service delivery, including in the Mojokerto Airlangga area. Annual evaluations also show increasing achievements up until the last year," he said.

Through this outreach activity, the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FKIK) of UIN Malang affirmed its commitment to strengthening academic and clinical networks, expanding research opportunities, enhancing student contributions to public health services, and advancing the institution's new branding, which is responsive to national health needs. FKIK is ready to continue its collaborative efforts not only in the academic arena but also in the development of halal innovations, Hajj medicine, herbal research, and community empowerment based on modern health and spirituality.
