TAARUF 2021: Introducing Academic and Student Culture to NAKULA MUDA 2021
As part of the Faculty's Academic and Student Culture Introduction, the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FKIK) held a two-day Taaruf (Alma Mater and Academic Tour for New Students) in 2021. This activity was part of a series of events aimed at providing new students with a glimpse of campus life. This year's event featured a special feature: the official introduction of the nickname Nakula (Ulul Albab Health Worker) for FKIK students. This nickname will become the identity of FKIK students.
The first day's event was held on Thursday (02/09/2021) at 08.00 WIB. The event was hosted by MCs who are part of the Safir and Safirah Association or campus ambassadors, namely Safirah FKIK: Fitriyani and Top 10 Safir: Febriansyah Akbar W. The activity began with prayers and remarks by the Chairperson of the Executive Board (Apt. Novia Maulina, M.Farm), Chair of DEMA FKIK (Muhammad Daffa Abhista R.), Chair of SEMA FKIK (Dwi Wahyu Utami), and Dean of FKIK UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang (Prof. Dr. dr. Yuyun Yueniwati, M.Kes, Sp.Rad (K)) as well as opening the event.
The symbolic procession of accepting new students of FKIK UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang or known as Nakula Muda was carried out by the Dean by wearing an alma mater jacket to the young Nakula.
The next activity was the presentation of Academic Socialization material carried out by the Vice Dean for Academic and Institutional Affairs, Prof. Dr. Roihatul Mutiah, SF, M. Kes, Apt. Followed by the presentation of Financial Services material by the Vice Dean for General Administration, Planning, and Finance, Ach. Nashichuddin, MA As well as a presentation on Student Services by the Vice Dean for Student Affairs and Cooperation, dr. Alvi Milliana, M.Biomed

After learning more about the faculty's programs and services, the event continued with a presentation session on the study programs by the Head of Study Program and the Secretary of Study Program. The presentation was conducted via Zoom breakout because the Faculty of Pharmacy, UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang, offers two study programs: the Undergraduate Pharmacy Study Program (PSSF) and the Medical Education Study Program (PSPD).
Entering the final agenda of the first day, namely the Presentation of Professional Ethics delivered by the Chair of the Professional Ethics Commission of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, UIN Malang, drg. Arief Suryadinata, Sp.Ort. This activity taught young students about student ethics patterns and ethical guidelines within the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences.
The second day of Taaruf 2021 on Friday (September 3, 2021) began with a video introduction to the academic community. The video featured photos, along with the names and positions of all members of the academic community, including the dean, study programs, and teaching staff. The event continued with an introduction to the facilities at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FKIK), a video tour. For the medical education program, the video tour was moderated by Marissa Nur Khoviva, a member of the 2021 FKIK Ambassadors Association (Safir Safirah). For the medical education program, a live tour of the cadaver room was also conducted, followed by a prayer to honor the cadaver. Following the presentations, the event continued with a question and answer session with new students.
After the medical education program, a video tour of the facilities in the pharmacy program was presented. In this session, the moderators explaining the video were laboratory assistants in the pharmacy program laboratory, Abdul Malik Guhir, S.Farm, and Nabila Rahmadani, S.Farm. The two moderators conducted the video live from the Ibnu Thufail building, Campus 3, FKIK UIN Malang, and showcased the laboratory rooms used during the learning process. Following the video presentation, the event continued with a question and answer session with the 2021 Nakula Muda class.
The second day of activities was relatively light, with the young students introduced to the facilities, student organizations, and the campus ambassador association. After a presentation on campus facilities, the student organization, DEMA FKIK (Student Executive Council), was introduced by the DEMA chairman, M. Daffa Abhista Reviansyah. In this session, the DEMA chairman explained the work programs of his cabinet and also introduced the DEMA management.
Following the presentation and introduction of the DEMA organization, the presentation continued with a presentation from the FKIK Student Senate (SEMA FKIK) delivered by the Senate Chairperson, Dwi Wahyu Utami. The presentation from the FKIK Student Senate explained the role and duties of the SEMA itself. After the presentation, a question and answer session with two high-ranking figures from the student organizations in this period of FKIK continued. This discussion covered the tips of the student organization leaders in time management, prioritizing, leadership styles, and other activist tips. The enthusiasm of the young students in this session was quite high. It cannot be denied that student organizations are the most ideal place to improve soft skills and the widest field to be able to train yourself in time management.
After the presentation of the faculty organization was finished, the young people then carried out breakout room in accordance with the study program and continued with a presentation of material on study program-level organizations, namely HMPSF (Pharmacy Study Program Student Association) and HMPPD (Medical Education Student Association). This material was delivered by the respective association heads, or commonly called kahim, namely Shena Sochib Maulana from HMPSF and Dhiaz Taufiq from HMPPD.
The introduction to student organizations continued with the introduction of the Safir Safirah FKIK association, the faculty's ambassador organization. This session featured online presentations from the 2021 ambassador winners: Safir: M. Syifa Haykal Azizi (Medical Education) and Safirah: Fitriyani (Pharmacy).
Before the end of the 2021 taaruf activity, awards were given to the best young people of 2021 who were always active in the implementation of taaruf 2021. This award was given both in groups and individually. The group winners were: Remdesivir Group, Oseltamivir Group, and Sinovac Group. The best participant winners were: Moch. Dzaky Addhimi, Gita Firli Rahmawati, and Carissa Syebina Putri. These winners will be appreciated with cash prizes for their enthusiasm exceeding other participants during the 2021 taaruf activity. Not to forget, impressions and messages from the young people were also given because this very useful and lively activity certainly left a special impression on the young people.
At the end of the event, it was carried out closing ceremony This was the final event in the series and also the closing ceremony for the 2021 Taaruf (Introduction to the Young Entrepreneurs). The closing ceremony was officiated by the Deputy Dean III for Student Affairs and Cooperation, Dr. Alvi Milliana, M.Biomed. Dr. Alvi expressed her highest appreciation for the hard work of the entire committee and the unwavering enthusiasm of the Nakula Muda participants throughout the event.
The implementation of this Taaruf activity has brought numerous benefits, particularly increased active collaboration between lecturers, educational staff, and students. It is hoped that this active collaboration and synergy will continue, allowing enthusiastic students to absorb a wealth of experience from their lecturers and educators. In this collaboration, lecturers and educators serve as a reservoir of experience ready to be absorbed by enthusiastic students.
