Wednesday, August 23, 2023, a welcoming ceremony for new students of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FKIK) of the State Islamic University (UIN) Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang was held in the 4th Floor Hall of the Shelter Building, Campus 2, UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang. The enthusiastic cheers and excitement from the new students during the opening illustrated their enthusiasm for participating in the event. The event, commonly known as the Introduction to Academic and Student Culture (PBAK), was titled "TAARUF" which is an acronym for the Alma Mater and Academic Tour of New FKIK Students. This year's Taaruf raised the theme of Self-Actualization towards NAKULA Muda Berdikari. "The theme of this self-actualization activity towards nakula muda berdikari was raised as a hope for the birth of a generation of ulul albab health workers who are creative, innovative and adaptive in building Islamic civilization in the health sector in the future," said the head of the committee, Naila Riezqi S.
The PBAK FKIK UIN Malang activity this time was attended by the full ranks of faculty leaders and study programs and also invited 11 heads of units and representatives from faculty units as well as the Chair of the Student Senate (SEMA) and the Student Executive Board (DEMA) of FKIK. The Dean of FKIK UIN Malang Prof. Dr. dr. Yuyun Yueniwati PW, M. Kes., Sp.Rad(K) in her welcoming speech also said that this Faculty PBAK event is a mandatory event every year as a form of welcoming new students, as well as an event to introduce the academic culture of the faculty as a whole. "We at FKIK must have innovation and be more creative both academically and non-academically and I remind future new students to try to graduate on time and be professional towards the choices you have chosen even though you feel you have already entered medicine, and have already entered pharmacy, you must continue to fight and be enthusiastic," concluded Prof. Yuyun. The Chairman of SEMA M. Abdulloh Umar and the Chairman of DEMA M. Razzaq Widagdo also gave a speech and provided encouragement to the new students of FKIK UIN Malang.
This event took place from 08.00 until the afternoon. In general, the PBAK activities on the first day were the opening, then a sharing session with faculty leaders guided by Fitriyani which discussed academic introduction material by the Vice Dean 1 for Academic and Institutional Affairs Prof. Dr. apt. Roihatul Mutiah, SF., M.Kes., introduction to financial policies and services by the Vice Dean 2 for AUPK Mr. Ach. Nasichuddin, MA. as well as an introduction to student services, cooperation and SKKM Socialization by the Vice Dean 3 for Student Affairs and Cooperation dr. Alvi Milliana, M.Biomed. After the sharing session with the faculty leaders, the activity continued with the introduction of 11 faculty development units, namely the Quality Assurance Unit (UPM), Research and Community Service Unit (UPPM), Professional Ethics Commission Unit, Health Research Ethics Commission, Public Relations and Protocol Unit, Medical Health Professional Education Unit (UMHPE), Faculty Excellence Development Unit, Student Affairs and Alumni Unit, Human Resources Development Unit, Cooperation and International Relations Unit, and Health Development, Services and Protection Unit (P3K).
The next session included an introduction to each study program within the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FKIK). The introduction to the Pharmacy and Pharmacist Professional Education programs took place in the hall on the fourth floor of the halfway house, while the introduction to the Medical Education and Medical Profession programs took place in the Ibnu Thufail Building.
The activities on the first day ended with a campus tour agenda at Campus 3 UIN Malang which was guided by the faculty ambassador or the Safir Safirah Association of FKIK UIN Malang 2023.
