Rock – Maulana Malik Ibrahim State Islamic University (UIN) Malang has once again emphasized its steps towards World Class University. Through the Decree of the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FKIK) Number 0755/Un.03/FKIK/05/2026, this green campus officially appointed five selected students to participate in the program Student Internship at King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT), Thailand. This strategic step is taken as a concrete effort by the faculty to enhance the competency, global insight, and international work experience of future healthcare professionals and scientists. KMUTT, recognized as one of the top technology and research institutions in Southeast Asia, will serve as a learning platform for UIN Malang delegates throughout 2026.

Strict Selection and Specific Interest

Based on an official document signed by the Dean of FKIK, Prof. Dr. dr. Yuyun Yueniwati PW, M.Kes, Sp. Rad (K), these students have passed a strict administrative selection process and an interview stage at the end of April 2026.

This departure carries a very specific and crucial research mission for the development of medical science.

Agatha Favian Crystalianto (PSPD 2023)-Microbial Fermentation Technology.

The Pharmaceutical Sector is no less progressive;

Muhammad Arbyan Hidayat (Pharmacy 2023) - antioxidant and antimicrobial agents from lignin

Wandha Sanrya Salsabila (Pharmacy 2023)-aroma and fragrance (Flavor and Fragrance Technology).

Hanafia Rosa Wardhani (Pharmacy 2023)- aroma and fragrance (Flavor and Fragrance Technology).

Full University Support

The Dean of FKIK, Prof. Yuyun Yueniwati, emphasized that all funding for this program is charged to the Budget Implementation List (DIPA) of Maulana Malik Ibrahim State Islamic University of Malang for the 2026 Fiscal Year. This demonstrates the institution's strong financial commitment to supporting international student mobility.

“"This program is not just an academic visit, but a long-term investment to produce graduates who are able to compete at the international level," said the faculty leader in the considerations of the decree.

Managerial support is also evident in the protective and directive structure involving the highest leadership of the faculty, including Dr. dr. Ermin Rachmawati, M.Biomed as the program director.

Towards Future Health Innovation

The research interests pursued by students in Thailand reflect global health trends. Mastery of genetic technology and microbial fermentation is expected to bring new innovations in treatment methods back home upon their return. Similarly, pharmaceutical research on the use of natural materials such as lignin aligns with the spirit of integrating science and local values espoused by UIN Malang.

As is Student Internship This year, FKIK UIN Malang has proven that its students excel not only in the classroom but also in the world-class research laboratory. The internship program at KMUTT is expected to pave the way for broader research collaborations between Indonesia and Thailand in the future.
