Malang, July 17, 2025 — A solemn atmosphere enveloped the Grand Hall of the Mercure Mirama Hotel on Thursday morning. The Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FKIK) of UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang once again held its eighth Doctors' Oath ceremony for 38 graduates of the Medical Professional Education Study Program. This sacred moment officially marked the birth of new doctors ready to serve as human beings with the highest moral standards.

The procession began with a procession of faculty leaders who walked gracefully, followed by the reading of the Graduation Decree and the oath of all new doctors. For the first time, the number of oath participants reached the highest number since this program was held at FKIK UIN Malang, namely 38 doctors. The 8th period of the doctor's oath procession was attended by the Director of the dr. Radjiman Wediodiningrat Lawang Mental Hospital, dr. Yuniar, Sp.KJ, the Director of the Malang City Regional Hospital represented by Jetty Silviani, SKM, MM, the Deputy Director of the Karsa Husada Batu Regional Hospital, dr. Benny Marcel Pandango, Sp.OG, K, the Head of the Batu City Health Office represented by dr. Icang Sarrazin as Head of the Health Financing and Resources Services Division, the Chairman of the Indonesian Doctors Association of Greater Malang, dr. Sasmoyo Widito, Sp. JP(K), the Chairman of the Education Coordination Committee of the Karsa Husada Batu Regional Hospital, dr. Indra Wahyu Saputra Sp. JP.

Usrin Amirawati, representing the new doctors, stated in her speech that being a doctor is not just a profession, but a significant responsibility that must be carried out responsibly. "Our challenges in the medical world are not easy. The rapid development of science, the complexity of cases, and the limitations of the system are realities we will face. However, I believe that with a spirit of learning and dedication, we can be part of society's hopes," she said. She also closed her remarks with the quote, "Wherever the art of medicine is loved, there is also a love for humanity."“

Meanwhile, Prof. Dr. dr. Yuyun Yueniwati, M.Kes., Sp.Rad(K), as Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, UIN Malang, emphasized the importance of upholding ethical values and professional responsibility. "Never stop learning because doctors are lifelong learners. You have signed a moral contract to continue growing and benefiting the community," she said.

One of the touching moments came from the best graduating doctor of this period. Dr. Alvina Nindy Fananni as a graduate with the highest UKMPPD CBT score of 93.33 expressed her emotion and pride for being able to dedicate this achievement to her parents, especially her late father who really wanted her to become a doctor "I'm sure my late father would be proud there," she said. She also shared UKMPPD preparation tips to juniors so they wouldn't be lazy in studying and take advantage of the various tutoring services available, because each tutoring service has its own strengths in material. In addition, there were other best graduates, namely Dr. Aprilia Mawardani as a graduate with the highest UKMPPD OSCE score with a score of 95.23 as well as Dr. Alvina Nindy Fananni and Dr. Vivian Fahmanisa Nur Fatharani as graduates with the highest GPA of 3.85

Benny Marcel Pandango, Sp.OG, K, Deputy Director of Karsa Husada Batu Regional Hospital, stated that being a doctor is a noble task that not everyone can fulfill. "Doctors are an extension of God's hand in delivering health and well-being. This is not an easy task, but it is very noble," he said. He also emphasized that the hospital is ready to strengthen its role in mentoring interns, especially in preparing for the next UKMPPD period.

Similarly, Dr. Iwal Reza Ahdi, Sp.PD, FINASIM, Head of the Medical Profession study program, also expressed his pride in the graduates' achievements. "This year's medical oath is special, not only because of the large number of graduates, but also because of their extraordinary quality and enthusiasm. Hopefully, these new doctors will bring good name to FKIK UIN at the national and international levels," he concluded.

In closing, the Doctors' Oath ceremony not only marks the end of a long educational journey but also the beginning of a greater responsibility to serve the community, the nation, and humanity. FKIK UIN Malang is committed to continuously mentoring its alumni to grow into doctors with integrity, professionalism, and a blessing for the universe.
