Malang, April 14, 2026 – The Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FKIK) of the State Islamic University (UIN) held a leadership meeting (Rapim) on April 14, 2026, on the first floor of the Library Building, Campus I, UIN Malang. The meeting discussed several strategic policies related to the work system for lecturers and educational staff, the direction of the faculty's internationalization, and upcoming academic agendas.

In the meeting, the Dean of FKIK Prof. Dr. dr. Yuyun Yueniwati, PW., M.Kes., Sp.Rad(K) emphasized that the work system will be implemented with a pattern of four days WFO (Work From Office) and one day WFH (Work From Home). Friday is designated as WFH day, with learning shifted online. However, for the Medicine and Pharmacy study programs, offline simulations will still be carried out until Friday prayers due to practicums and laboratory activities that cannot be replaced with online methods. Educational staff and laboratory technicians are also scheduled to be on duty to ensure optimal service continues.

This policy was implemented as a measure to save energy and time, while also maintaining the quality of learning. The Dean emphasized that the faculty must be able to balance the workload of lecturers, students, and educational staff while still considering academic needs.

In addition to discussing work systems, the meeting also highlighted the university's ambitious vision to become a globally reputable institution. The Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FKIK) affirmed its commitment to supporting internationalization through several concrete policies. These include implementing English Day at least once a week, requiring international expert lectures at least once per semester, and holding thesis defenses with presentations in English.

This step aims to familiarize lecturers and students with using English without interpreters, preparing them to compete internationally. The faculty is also developing a bilingual policy for its website and study program profiles, as well as an English language improvement program through TOEFL classes and conversation courses.

The academic agenda was a key focus of the meeting. Several activities have been scheduled. First, the Pharmacist Oath will be held on April 23, 2026, at the Alana Hotel, with 39 student participants. The committee has prepared official invitations and a dress code of white kebaya with butter yellow hijab. Second, the PSPPA Curriculum Update Workshop is scheduled for April 29, 2026, with Prof. Yunitanita as a resource person. Third, the National Competency Examination for Medical Professional Students (UKNPDPD) will be held in May, with CBT on May 17 and OSCE on May 23–25. The faculty is also preparing an internal tryout to ensure student readiness.

The meeting also discussed plans to develop a fast-track program for Master's degrees in Biomedicine and Master's degrees in Pharmacy. This program is expected to provide a faster and more efficient solution for students seeking to pursue a master's degree.
