The Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FKIK) UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang held an Academic Coordination activity on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at the Mini Hall, 3rd Floor, Ar Rahim Building, Campus 3. This activity was carried out in a hybrid manner, with participants attending in person or participating online. The event was attended by the Dean of FKIK Prof. Dr. dr. Yuyun Yueniwati Prabowowati Wadjib, M.Kes., Sp.Rad (K), the deans, heads of study programs, study program secretaries, FKIK lecturers, educational staff, and the entire academic community of FKIK UIN Malang. This activity is a strategic forum in aligning academic policies, strengthening educational governance, and shaping the character of a professional and integrated academic community.

The event was officially opened by the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang, Prof. Dr. dr. Yuyun Yueniwati Prabowowati Wadjib, M.Kes., Sp.Rad(K). It was followed by an opening speech by the Vice Rector I, Drs. H. Basri, MA, Ph.D. In his remarks, he emphasized the importance of clear, focused, and sustainable faculty management. “"Each faculty must be well managed, its management clear and interconnected, although not always the same,"” He also emphasized that students are a new generation that needs to be nurtured through a strong and disciplined academic culture. “"We must build a healthy academic tradition. The mindset of being late without feeling guilty must be transformed into a sense of responsibility."” he said firmly.

In addition, he reminded the importance of creating a healthy and ethical campus environment, including maintaining a smoke-free area and upholding the values of integrating education and democracy. “"Science must stand on its own character and integrity. The Qur'an is a guide, but it is not to be imposed narrowly."” He also emphasized the importance of interpersonal skills, professional ethics, good appearance, and human empathy. “"Students should not only have cognitive abilities, but they should also have empathy, ethics, and a professional attitude,"” he added.

The next speech was delivered by the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Dr. dr. Ermin Rachmawati, M.Biomed. He stated that the implementation of the 2022–2027 academic period was carried out in accordance with the PP-EBP cycle, resulting in good governance and improved educational quality. “"By following the right cycle, we can produce good quality education and optimal student competencies,"” In addition to teaching, the faculty also plays a role in implementing university policies by disseminating priority programs to the entire academic community.

Furthermore, he emphasized the direction of future faculty development which focuses on strengthening collaboration and implementing modern management-based work standards. “"We not only work hard, but work according to internationally standardized standards,"” He also emphasized the importance of strengthening students' character. “"Academic policies must prioritize discipline, ethical values, and morals. Learning must be aligned with function and competency levels to ensure the output is truly connected."” he added.

In the presentation session, the importance of a planned learning strategy from the start of the lecture was also conveyed.“"Students need to design learning strategies from the start, implement them consistently, and manage the learning process so that the expected competencies are truly achieved."” He said that competence is not only measured by mastery of knowledge, but also by character development and students' readiness to contribute professionally to society.

Through this Academic Coordination activity, the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FKIK) of UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang hopes to create a shared vision for developing quality, integrated, and future-oriented education. The synergy between good governance, character building, and competency enhancement is expected to produce graduates who are superior, professional, and possess a strong sense of humanitarian concern.
