During the first weekend of June, on Saturday (June 5, 2021) and Sunday (June 6, 2021), the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FKIK) of UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang remarkably successfully held two international-level online seminars featuring competent speakers from within and outside the country. Both seminars were attended by hundreds of participants from professional circles, academics, and the general public.
The first international seminar entitled the 7th Symposium in Health and Medicine (SHIAM) with the theme Designing Basic to Applied Research for Discovery of New Diagnostic and Therapeutic Agents in Cardio-Cerebrovascular Disease. The 7th edition of SHIAM featured three speakers who are experts in the field of cerebrovascular and cardiovascular, including Prof. Dr. Ahmad Sobri Muda from Universiti Putra Malaysia, Prof. dr. M. Saifur Rohman, Sp.JP(K), PhD from Brawijaya University, and Dr. Ermin Rachmawati, M.Biomed from the Department of Biomedical Sciences, FKIK UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang. The event was interesting with the presentation of material from the speakers and questions submitted by the webinar participants.
No less interesting than SHIAM 7, the following day (6/6/2021) was followed by an International Webinar entitled the 2nd Annual Health Symposium on Hajj and Umrah (ANSHAR 2) which raised the theme "“Future Perspective of the Hajj Pilgrim's Health Management”. ANSHAR, which was held in its second year, felt more special because it successfully presented five highly competent speakers in the field of Hajj health, namely: Dr. Anas Khan, MBBS, MHA, SBEM from King Saud University, H. Khoirizi, S.Sos, MM, as Director of Hajj and Umrah of the Indonesian Ministry of Religious Affairs, Rosna Abdul Raman, M.HSc., BSc., BioMed, RN from Universiti Putra Malaysia, Prof. Dr. apt. Suharjono. MS from the Faculty of Pharmacy, Airlangga University, and Dr. Abdul Malik Setiawan, M.Infect.Dis from FKIK UIN Maliki Malang. The ANSHAR international seminar was considered to be a trademark which is only owned by the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences of UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang, as confirmed by Prof. Dr. Abdul Haris, M.Ag., Rector of UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang who was also present and gave a speech at the event. "UIN Maliki Malang is different from other universities, especially those that provide Professional Medical education, namely in the field of Hajj medicine. Through the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences owned by UIN Malang, we want to make a good contribution to the implementation of Hajj in Indonesia," welcomed Prof. Haris.
