MALANG, May 28, 2026 – The Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FKIK) of UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang successfully held the slaughter and distribution of sacrificial animals in commemoration of Eid al-Adha 1447 H on Thursday (28/5) today. This annual activity received direct appreciation from the Vice Rector 1 (WR 1) of UIN Malang, Drs. H. Basri, MA, Ph.D., who was present to inspect the location, even joining in grilling satay with all the staff.

For this event, the committee managed seven sacrificial animals, consisting of two cows and five goats. The entire process, from slaughter to distribution of the meat, was ensured to run smoothly and in accordance with Islamic law.

Solidarity Without Barriers and the Moment WR 1 Joined in "Nyate" Together

The process of managing the sacrificial animals is carried out collaboratively, involving all levels of the campus structure without any barriers. From faculty leaders and lecturers to administrative staff, security officers, and support staff, everyone gets involved directly in the field.

The atmosphere of togetherness grew even warmer as we entered the communal meal session. Vice Rector I of UIN Malang, Drs. H. Basri, MA, Ph.D., who was present during the event, didn't hesitate to join in the fun of making and grilling satay on campus.

The Vice Rector's direct involvement in this "nyate bareng" (revelation) event created a strong sense of egalitarianism. He believes this type of event is a highly effective means of communication, both top-down and bottom-up, while also serving as a tangible form of appreciation from the rectorate and faculty leadership to all their subordinates and staff for their hard work.

The neatly packaged sacrificial meat packages are focused on being distributed to the community living around the FKIK UIN Malang area.

Through this social action, Drs. H. Basri, MA, Ph.D., explained that FKIK is committed to bridging the gap between academic institutions and local residents. He emphasized the importance of etiquette when handing over meat, which requires equal distribution, courtesy, and without demeaning the recipient, to truly uphold the social essence of this act of worship.

In the interview, Vice Rector I invited the entire academic community to reflect on the meaning of sacrifice from the story of the Prophet Abraham. This event is not merely an annual ritual but a symbol of sincerity, honesty, and a strong father-son relationship.

These noble values are what we hope to implement in the campus work environment. All staff and faculty are expected to emulate sincerity in their work, dedication to service, and the maintenance of harmonious relationships among campus members for the advancement of the institution.

At the end of his visit, Drs. H. Basri, MA, Ph.D., expressed his deep impressions and considered this year's qurbani event at FKIK a great success and worthy of being a good example for other faculties within UIN Malang. He emphasized that this noble program must continue in the years to come.

“"I hope the service and distribution system for sacrificial meat can continue to improve in the future. If resources permit, the number of sacrificial animals slaughtered for the next Eid al-Adha should also be increased," Vice Rector I hoped.

He also left a closing message that the process of distributing the sacrificial meat should always be carried out with a happy face, a warm smile, and without insults, so that the blessings of the sacrifice can touch and be felt happily by all parties.
