Malang, October 28, 2025 — The Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FKIK) UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang once again held... Islamic Health and Biomedical Advancement (IHYA) 2025 Series 2. The event which took place on Tuesday, October 28, 2025 was packaged in the form of an online seminar (Zoominar) with the theme “Model and Validation of Health Products: From Immunohistochemistry to Halal Critical Points.”

This activity was opened directly by the Dean of FKIK UIN Malang, namely Prof. Dr. dr. Yuyun Yueniwati Prabowowati Wadjib, M.Kes, Sp.Rad(K) who in this case was represented by Dr. drg. Risma Aprinda Kristanti, M.Sc.

This event was held as part of a series of activities to introduce and promote the newly established Master's Program in Biomedical Sciences at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, UIN Malang, which will open in the 2026/2027 academic year. Through this Zoominar series, the committee hopes that the academic community and prospective students will gain a better understanding of the program's character and scientific direction.

“"The main objective of this event is to introduce and promote the Master of Biomedical Sciences program while also showcasing the competency of the lecturers involved," explained Dr. Abdul Malik Setiawan, M.Infect., PAK., Ph.D., the event chairperson.

Theme selection “Model and Validation of Health Products: From Immunohistochemistry to Halal Critical Points” is considered highly relevant to learning needs in the biomedical sciences. Unlike IHYA Series 1, this series focuses more on developing research models and validating health products integrated with Islamic values.

“"Techniques such as immunohistochemistry and determining halal critical points are important skills that biomedical students need to master," explained Dr. Malik.

One of the hallmarks of the UIN Malang Master of Biomedical Sciences study program is its integrative approach between biomedical science and Islamic values. Through activities such as IHYA, it is hoped that participants will understand that modern science can align with Islamic principles. In addition to this integrative approach between biomedical science and Islamic values, the Master of Biomedical Sciences will also focus on degenerative diseases, introduced through IHYA.

This seminar presented three lecturers from the Faculty of Medicine, UIN Malang as the main speakers, each lecturer presenting a topic that illustrates the scope of modern biomedical research.

Dr. drg. Anik Listiyana, M.Biomed., AHK. presented the material "“Development of Cancer Animal Models: Protein Profiling via Immunohistochemistry.”

Dr. Zainabur Rahmah, S.Si., M.Sc. convey the topic"“Development of Placental Malaria Animal Models and Methods of Paracitemia Level Detection.”

Apt. Mayu Rahmayanti, S.Farm., M.Sc. discusses “Critical Control Points in Materials and Processes for Halal Compliance in Pharmaceuticals.”

These three materials are expected to provide prospective students with a concrete picture of the fields of study and skills they will learn in the Master of Biomedical Sciences program.

Dr. drg. Anik Listiyana, M.Biomed., AHK., as the head of the Master of Biomedical Sciences study program, hopes that the IHYA event will continue and that collaborations with other parties can be established.

“"We hope that IHYA will continue to be implemented and that it will also attract external parties to establish further collaborations to support and enhance mutual support in research, learning, and other areas," said Drg. Anik in an interview.

Through IHYA 2025 Series 2, FKIK UIN Malang affirms its commitment to developing biomedical science that is not only scientifically superior, but also based on universal Islamic values.
