Kuala Lumpur, Wednesday (3/5/2023), Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences State Islamic University of Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang (FKIK UIN Malang) is committed to continuously developing its network by collaborating with various partners, both domestically and internationally. On Wednesday, May 3, 2023, FKIK UIN Malang explored collaboration with the Faculty of Medicine, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). Yuyun Yueniwati PW, M.Kes., Sp.Rad(K).; Vice Dean for Student Affairs and Cooperation, dr. Alvi Milliana, M.Biomed; and Teaching Staff of the Medical Education Study Program, dr. The understanding between the Faculty of Medicine and Medicine of UIN Malang and the Faculty of Medicine of UKM Malaysia is actually not new. In the past three years, there have been several collaborations between the two faculties, both in education and research. In 2020, the Medical Education Study Program of FKIK UIN Malang successfully invited Prof. Dr. Hamzaini Abdul Hamid, MBBCh., DrRad as one of the speakers at the 5th Symposium in Health and Medicine. In the same year, Prof. Hamzaini also collaborated with Prof. Yuyun and Prof. Roihatul Muti'ah from FKIK in research on the development of anti-SARS-CoV2 agents.
The aforementioned reasons also underlie the urgency of extending the collaboration between the Faculty of Medicine and Medicine, UIN Malang, and the UKM Medical Center, specifically with the Anatomy Department. The meeting discussed future collaborations. Among the points discussed were collaboration in the Tri Dharma of Higher Education: Education, Research, and Community Service.

Dr. Abdul Malik Setiawan, the PIC for Cooperation and staff of the Cooperation and International Relations Unit of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, UIN Malang, explained that the discussion proceeded smoothly and warmly. Both UIN and UKM expressed a desire to build a more intense collaboration than before.
“"UKM has warmly welcomed the proposed collaborative activity plan proposed by the Faculty of Medicine and Medicine, UIN Malang. Therefore, in the near future, the results of this exploration will be developed into a legal draft of the collaboration document, with the two institutions reviewing its contents," concluded Dr. Malik.
