The Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences of the State Islamic University (UIN) Malang conducted an outreach program for students of SMA 1 Tenggarong, Kutai Kartanegara, East Kalimantan. The activity was conducted on February 15-16, 2023, by 12 personnel from the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences of UIN Malang, including the Dean, Vice Deans, Head of General Affairs, Heads and Secretaries of Study Programs at the Faculty, and the Head of the Faculty's Public Relations Unit.
This outreach program aims to inspire and motivate students of SMA 1 Tenggarong to pursue further studies at UIN Malang, particularly in the Medicine and Pharmacy programs. The outreach program also supports UIN Malang's accreditation, where publication and promotion of study programs are crucial.
Prof. Dr. dr. Yuyun Yueniwati, M.Kes, Sp.Rad (K), Dean of FKIK UIN Malang, said that SMA 1 Tenggarong was chosen as the location for the socialization because of the school's alumni, namely Dr. apt. Rahmi Anisa, M.Farm., who is now the Head of the Pharmacist Professional Education Study Program at FKIK UIN Malang. In addition, the socialization program is not only aimed at students majoring in science, but also social sciences because the new student admission system now accepts students from various majors.
The Deputy Head of Curriculum at SMAN 1 Tenggarong also expressed his happiness with the outreach activity. He believes that having a successful alumna like Ms. Rahmi can motivate SMA 1 Tenggarong students to continue their studies at UIN Malang, specifically the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FKIK).
“"Through this socialization, SMA 1 Tenggarong students can be interested and inspired to continue their studies at UIN Malang, not only in the Medicine and Pharmacy study programs, but also other study programs at UIN Malang," said the Deputy Head of Curriculum.
