Included in the priority recipients of the first wave of the CoronaVac (Sinovac) COVID-19 Vaccine, a number of health workers who are also educators and educational staff at the FKIK UIN Malang received immunizations on Sunday morning (31/1/2021) at the UMMI Clinic UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang.
The first vaccination event on the UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim campus was attended directly by the Rector of UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang, Prof. Dr. Abdul Haris, M.Ag as well as the Chairperson and Deputy Chairperson of the UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang Public Health Service Center, Prof. Dr. dr. Bambang Pardjianto, Sp.B., Sp.BP.,RE(K) and Dr. dr. Achdiat Agoes. In his remarks, Prof. Haris strongly supported the implementation of this first vaccination, especially for educators and education personnel at UIN Malang, because in addition to supporting the Central Government program, it can also be an example for the community to not hesitate to receive immunization in order to break the chain of the COVID-19 outbreak.

This vaccination program at UIN Malang involved 40 people, consisting of 10 healthcare workers and 30 lecturers and staff from the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FKIK) of UIN Malang. The vaccines were imported directly from the Central Government in collaboration with the Malang City Ministry of Health. The vaccination process at the UMMI Clinic of UIN Malang consisted of four stages: registration, screening, vaccination, and observation. The vaccination process was handled directly by healthcare workers at the UMMI Clinic of UIN Malang. Within 14 days, the second phase of immunization (booster) for participants who received the vaccination today. It is hoped that this vaccination will provide immunity to healthcare workers, especially those on the UIN Malang campus, against the COVID-19 virus.
