Batu, April 7, 2026 – The Faculty of Medicine, UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang, welcomed a team of assessors from the Association of Indonesian Medical Education Institutions (AIPKI) for a visit to the OSCE Center on Monday (April 6). The visit aimed to assess the readiness and quality of the facilities and learning systems at the OSCE Center, part of efforts to improve the standards of medical education on campus and prepare to host the National Competency Examination for Medical Professional Students (UKNPDPD).

The visitation event began with remarks from Dr. dr. Ermin Rachmawati, M. Biomed. as Vice Dean I for academic affairs of the Faculty of Medicine, UIN Malang, who expressed her hope that this visitation would provide the best results for the development of medical education at the Faculty of Medicine, UIN Malang. Also present were Vice Dean II for General Administration, Planning and Finance, dr. Alvi Milliana, M. Biomed., who strongly supports the process of developing teaching and learning facilities at the Faculty of Medicine, UIN Malang. and the Head of the Medical Education and Medical Profession study program, as well as all the lecturers of the Faculty of Medicine, UIN Malang who attended to make this visitation event a success.

Deputy Dean I for Academic Affairs of the Faculty of Medicine, UIN Malang, Dr. dr. Ermin Rachmawati, M. Biomed., said that based on the visitation conducted, the OSCE Center of the Faculty of Medicine, UIN Malang was assessed to meet national standards for daily learning activities and the implementation of UKNPDPD. Fulfillment of these standards is in line with the commitment of the Faculty of Medicine, UIN Malang to continue improving the quality of education at the Faculty of Medicine, UIN Malang as an effort to improve the quality of competent, professional, and ethical medical graduates so that they are ready to compete nationally and internationally.

During the visit, the surveyor team conducted a direct inspection of the rooms used in the Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) process and evaluated the various facilities available, including patient simulation rooms, medical equipment, and technological systems that support the implementation of the OSCE exam.

The survey team also conducted a Q&A session with a number of lecturers and educational staff as OSCE Center managers to gain a more in-depth understanding of the OSCE implementation process, management of simulated patients, and the assessment system applied.

This visitation is expected to strengthen the quality of education at the Faculty of Medicine, UIN Malang, particularly in preparing students for the medical professional competency exam and ultimately passing the UKNPDPD (National Medical Exam)—a requirement for obtaining a medical degree. The visitation results will serve as important evaluation material for the Faculty of Medicine, UIN Malang, in developing higher-quality facilities and programs to produce competent and professional doctors based on ulul albab (the traditional principles).
