Indonesian Palliative Medicine Expert Dr. Agus Ali Fauzi Strengthens the Character of Ulul Albab Healthcare Worker Candidates

Most health students are oriented towards becoming healthcare professionals who play a vital role in improving public health. In addition to academic pursuits, health students are also required to communicate effectively and efficiently to support their role in society. Therefore, learning activities in higher education are not solely focused on academics but also emphasize social, organizational, and ethical aspects of community life. This complex learning process for students, if not equipped with self-management skills, can trigger ongoing stress. Therefore, a strong character-building strategy is essential for students, especially new students.

Thursday (25/08) was the second day of the FKIK PBAK event State Islamic University of Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang. This activity, which is aimed at new FKIK students (Nakula Muda), took place at Hallroom 4th Floor of the UIN Malang Campus 2 Shelter and also broadcast via the official Youtube channel of FKIK Public Relations State Islamic University of Malang. Material presentation session character building delivered by Dr. Agus Ali Fauzi PGD, Pall.Med (ECU) who focuses as a palliative doctor. He is a doctor who places great emphasis on obedience to Allah and His Messenger and filial piety to parents. Doctor Agus Ali Fauzi's formula for success is to have a dream and focus on pursuing it, work hard and be persistent, help each other, be creative-innovative-productive, and always be grateful and pray to Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.

“"May you be healthier, more successful, happier, and most importantly, graduate on time," said Dr. Agus Ali Fauzi when greeting the Nakula Muda 2022 class before opening the session. At the beginning of his session, he advised that students must have dreams, at least to graduate on time with the best grades. However, he reminded them that the most important thing in the series of dreams is to first wake up and then take action. The core of Dr. Agus Ali Fauzi's material in this session was related to emotional balancing, so that students can control stress, including by getting closer to Allah, being happy, avoiding perfectionism and selfishness, being willing to apologize and forgive, and having... sense of humor.
