FKIK UIN Malang hosted the XII Regional Conference of the Indonesian Student Senate Association (ISMKI) Region 4 on January 5-8, 2023. The event, which was held on the 4th Floor of the UIN Malang Campus 2 Shelter House, was attended by 85 medical students who are the ISMKI Regional Daily Executive Board (PHW), the Chair of the Student Executive Board (BEM), and other student delegates from the Faculty of Medicine within the scope of work of ISMKI Region 4 (East Java to Papua). This ISMKI Regional Conference is the largest annual forum that aims to foster friendship, present work program accountability reports, and determine the holder of activity tenders and the secretary of the next regional management.
On Thursday (5/1/2023), the series of activities for the XII Regional Conference began with the agenda Welcoming Party which opened with a performance of the Bapang Dance, a traditional dance from Malang, by FKIK students. This activity was attended by the Chairman of the Indonesian Medical Association (IDI) East Java, the Secretary General of ISMKI Region 4, the Dean and Vice Dean 3 of FKIK UIN Malang, the Secretary of the Medical Profession UIN Malang, and the Secretary of PSPD UIN Malang. The first speech was delivered by Dr. dr. Sutrisno, Sp. Og (K). He invited the generation of young Indonesian doctors to return to center each, "Hopefully, every province can educate doctors and specialists so that in the future there will be an even distribution of doctors." The next speech was delivered by the Dean of FKIK UIN Malang, Prof. Dr. dr. Yuyun Yueniwati Prabowowati Wadjib, M. Kes., Sp. Rad (K), who then symbolically opened the series of events by striking a gong. In his speech, he said that he would be happier if medical students not only studied, but also organized or participated in competitions. "Hopefully, until the end of the closing, it will be smooth, successful, and given ease. Gaining memories and knowledge, acquaintances," he concluded.Â
The delegates were then invited to rest and socialize. The next agenda was the implementation of the first plenary session with a discussion of the agenda, rules of procedure, and the election of a permanent presidium. The session was then suspended until the following day. On the second day (January 6, 2023), the session was held from morning to evening with the agenda of presenting the accountability report of ISMKI Contributive, Presentation of the Tenderization LPJ, and Election of Regional Secretaries for the next management. Saturday morning until afternoon (January 7, 2023), the delegates still underwent the election of Regional Secretaries and MPA of ISMKI Region 4 before finally attending the Farewell Party that evening.
