Malang, Thursday (May 11, 2023), Darul Uloom School Satun Thailand visited the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, UIN Malang, with the aim of strengthening ties and establishing collaboration between the two institutions. The visit also introduced the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences to the Darul Uloom School delegation, whose students are interested in integrated Islamic medicine in Indonesia and enjoy a pesantren atmosphere.
The delegation consisted of five students and a teacher, Ustadz Fauzi, a native of Thailand and fluent in Indonesian. The delegation arrived at UIN Malang full of enthusiasm. In addition to visiting the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, the Darul Uloom School delegation also visited LP2M UIN Malang, Kampung Inggris Pare, and Bali.
During the visit to the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences UIN Malang, the delegation from Darul Ulum School Satun Thailand had the opportunity to discuss and ask questions with the Vice Dean 2, Ach. Nasichuddin, MA., Vice Dean 3, dr. Alvi Milliana, M.Biomed., Head of the Medical Education Study Program UIN Malang, dr. Tias Pramesti Griana, M.Biomed., Head of the Pharmacy Study Program apt. Abdul Hakim, MPI., M.Farm., and Secretary of the Pharmacist Profession Study Program apt. Alif Firman Firdausi, M.Biomed. To facilitate direct communication with guests from abroad, FKIK UIN Malang students who are able to speak foreign languages accompanied the guests from Thailand. After the activity, the guests were invited to tour the campus to see firsthand the facilities and learning atmosphere at FKIK.
The Head of the Community Service Center (PkM) LPPM UIN Malang, Dr. H. Syaiful Mustofa, M.Pd., also participated in this visit to ensure the smooth running of the event and bridge communication between the Thai delegation and the university. Where previously he has experience in collaborating with educational institutions in Thailand. This visit is a form of commitment after UIN Malang sent sixteen students to carry out community service Student Work Lecture (KKM) in Thailand in 2022.
This visit is expected to have a positive impact in strengthening the collaboration between the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences of UIN Malang and Darul Uloom School Satun, Thailand. Furthermore, it will also increase the number of international students studying at UIN Malang, thereby achieving the university's vision of becoming a leading institution with an international reputation. This will bring prestige to the university and enhance international recognition of UIN Malang as one of the universities with the largest number of international students.
The visit from Darul Uloom School Satun Thailand is the first step in expanding the collaborative network between UIN Malang and Thailand's educational institutions. This collaboration includes student exchanges, joint research, cross-cultural teaching programs, and other collaborative activities. This will further connect the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences of UIN Malang with international educational institutions and enrich the learning experience for its students.
