Poor – All students of the Pharmacy Undergraduate Study Program, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FKIK), UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang, class of 2024 AETHERIUM participate in activities Pharmaceutical Student Excursions (PSE) 2026 on Tuesday, June 30, 2026. This activity was attended by 273 students and accompanied by 12 lecturers from the Faculty of Medicine and Medicine, UIN Malang. This activity is an out-of-class learning program designed to introduce students directly to the world of the pharmaceutical, food, and cosmetics industries. Through visits to several national companies, participants gained real-world experience regarding production processes, quality control, product research and development, and the application of pharmaceutical science in an industrial environment.

Before departure, Secretary of the Undergraduate Pharmacy Study Program, FKIK UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang, Dr. apt. Yen Yen Ari Indra Wijaya, M.Farm. Klin., conveying that Pharmaceutical Student Excursions is a crucial part of supporting student learning. He believes that hands-on learning experiences in the industry will enrich the insights gained through classroom lectures and practicums. He also hopes that all Pharmacy students in the Class of 2024 will take advantage of this opportunity to build competencies, expand their professional networks, and gain a better understanding of the world of work they will face after graduation.

We hope that all students will take advantage of this opportunity to learn from practitioners, understand industry standards, and prepare themselves to become competent, professional graduates capable of competing nationally and globally."” said Dr. apt. Yen Yen Ari Indra Wijaya, M.Farm. Klin.

After arriving at the location, participants were divided into two groups to optimize the industrial visit process. First batch visit PT Sido Muncul Herbal Medicine and Pharmaceutical Industry Tbk, whereas second batch visit PT Agrotelo Indonesia. This division is done so that each participant can participate in the material presentation and field observation sessions more comfortably and interactively.

In PT Sido Muncul Herbal Medicine and Pharmaceutical Industry Tbk, students receive an explanation regarding the history of the company, the traditional medicine production process, and the application of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), as well as the quality control system applied to each product. Participants were also given a tour of the laboratory and production facilities to observe firsthand the stages of raw material processing and product packaging. This experience provided a concrete picture of the herbal pharmaceutical industry's standards, which meet both national and international standards.

Meanwhile, participants who were in PT Agrotelo Indonesia Studying innovative food processing based on local raw materials utilizing modern technology. Students are introduced to production processes, product development, and strategies for increasing the added value of local commodities to ensure their competitiveness in the market. Discussions with company teams also provide students with insights into collaboration opportunities between the pharmaceutical and food industries.

After the first visit session was completed, the two groups then met again to continue their joint agenda at PT Victoria Care Indonesia Tbk. During this visit, all participants received an introduction to the cosmetics and personal care industry, from the formulation process and production to the quality control systems implemented by the companies. Students also had the opportunity to engage in direct dialogue with practitioners about developments in the cosmetics industry, product innovation, and career opportunities for pharmacy graduates.

The enthusiasm of the Pharmacy students of Class of 2024 was evident throughout the series of activities. They posed various questions to the speakers regarding the research process, product development, industry regulations, and the challenges companies face in facing global competition. These interactions provided valuable experiences that strengthened the connection between the theory learned in college and professional practice in the industry.

Through Pharmaceutical Student Excursions 2026, AETHERIUM Pharmacy students of 2024 not only gained academic insight but also real-world experience regarding the dynamics of the pharmaceutical, food, and cosmetics industries in Indonesia. This activity demonstrates the commitment of the Undergraduate Pharmacy Study Program, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang, to providing innovative, applicable learning that aligns with the needs of the workplace. It is hoped that this experience will produce competent, professional graduates who are ready to contribute to the development of the healthcare industry in the future.
