In commemoration of its 62nd anniversary, Maulana Malik Ibrahim State Islamic University of Malang once again held a free mass circumcision, open to the public, on Saturday, October 28, 2023. This activity is a routine annual event. The team in charge of this activity is an internal team from UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim with a total of thirteen people. "This year, the team in charge consists of eight doctors and five young doctors. From the UMMI Clinic itself, there are me and Dr. Umik Lisa Desiyanti, and also assisted by Dr. Iwal Reza from FKIK," said Dr. Ikrimah. According to Dr. Ikrimah, the implementation of this year's mass circumcision is quite special. This is partly due to the direct contribution of young doctors who are alumni of UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim, whose competency has certainly been tested according to the UKMPPD graduation standards and have taken the doctor's oath. These alumni contributed to this event as a form of devotion to their alma mater, UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang.

There are three series of events at this year's mass circumcision, namely:, pre op, durante op, And post op. This series of events is still uncommon elsewhere, making it a unique feature of the mass circumcision held by UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim. Despite being free, the team still provides the best service, as evidenced by the presence of pre-op And post op. Pre-op A circumcision team visit is a home visit to assess the participant's readiness before the procedure. At this stage, a medical history and physical examination are conducted to determine whether the participant is fit for the procedure. Additionally, participants are educated on pre-circumcision dos and don'ts., post op A post-circumcision visit by the circumcision team to check on the participant's condition. This is a routine activity carried out by the UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim circumcision team to avoid any issues that could affect the circumcision process and to increase participant satisfaction.

This year, nine people participated in the mass circumcision, ranging in age from 9 to 12. "The participants who participated in the mass circumcision have certainly met the previously determined qualifications," said Dr. Ikrimah. One of the things that was also special about this year's mass circumcision, according to Dr. Ikrimah, was the presence of participants with special needs, which posed a challenge for the mass circumcision. However, this did not prevent the event from running smoothly and under control. "Alhamdulillah, today's event ran smoothly, without any obstacles," she said. The smooth running of the event was also inseparable from the role of the Rhazes Medical Team (RMT), consisting of students from the Medical Education Study Program at UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim. They totaled 41 people and were tasked with ensuring the event ran smoothly from start to finish.

In addition to the assigned team, also present were the Head of General Affairs and the Head of the AUPK Bureau, Mr. Ahmad Hidayatullah, who opened the event at a ceremony in the morning before the main event was carried out. Based on the event that was held on October 28th, Dr. Ikrimah hopes that future mass circumcision events will be more organized, from the ceremony to the end of the implementation. "Hopefully with this circumcision, participants can benefit from circumcision from all aspects, including biological, social, psychological, and spiritual aspects. Hopefully next year the event will be more organized, with more participants and officers, and hopefully next year we can also hold mass circumcisions at the right time, so that leaders can also attend the ceremony," said Dr. Ikrimah.
