FKIK CARNIVAL 2023 Product Exhibition Unveils the Potential of the Community's Impressive Products and Works

On Saturday, March 18, 2023, the FKIK UIN Malang Expo enlivened the atmosphere of the faculty, Precet hamlet, and the surrounding area. The Dean's Cup Closing Ceremony and Open House merged into the first FKIK Carnival, attended by approximately 450 visitors from various backgrounds, including academics, alumni, high school students, and even the local community. The FKIK UIN Malang Expo offered a variety of booths, ranging from snacks and main courses to products resulting from collaborative research between lecturers and students.

Mr. Yossi Indra Kusuma, S.Ked., M.Med., Ed., the Expo coordinator, explained that this year was the first year the FKIK UIN Malang Expo was held. "In the planning, this event was still in the same time period as the two previously mentioned events, so the merger of these three events was recommended by the Dean to create a larger, more effective, and of course, more lively event," said Mr. Yossi.

Prof. Dr. dr. Yuyun Yueniwati, M.Kes, Sp.Rad (K) as the Dean of FKIK hopes that the unity of these three events will be a forum to introduce the only FK established in Batu City, which is targeted to join this year by 60 PSPD (Medical Education Study Program) students and 150 PSSF (Bachelor of Pharmacy Study Program) students.

Alif Firman Firdausy, S.Farm., M.Biomed., as the head of the FKIK Carnival, oversees 3 operational committee The event's organizer stated that this large-scale event, involving many parties, presents its own challenges, particularly in terms of timing and scheduling. It is hoped that this inaugural FKIK Carnival will serve as a benchmark for future years, with increased attendance and, of course, even more people benefiting from the FKIK Carnival.

Dr. Alvi Milliana, M.Biomed., as Vice Dean 3 for Student Affairs and Cooperation, who also serves as an advisor for the 2023 FKIK Carnival activities, hopes that the next FKIK Carnival can be held regularly and even more lively, seeing the extraordinary enthusiasm from various parties.

The Fita Pow booth represents a collaborative research project between lecturers and students. Dr. Ermin RMBiomed pioneered research that has now successfully created... prototype The product will be developed into a patented product, which is expected to provide broader benefits. The resulting product is a fermented vegetable and spice formula based on the local wisdom of Indonesian culinary traditions, modified from the presence of pathogenic bacteria to become a lactic acid probiotic that can increase the active compounds in vegetables and spices. According to the students involved in the research, Fayza Cinta and Ahdika Nungki, the challenges are certainly great, but good opportunities must be seized because a second time is not always possible.

 

DEMA FKIK UIN Malang stand

Moving slightly to student research, a dry cake product made from banana flour and corn silk, named Coopy Mayz, was created by Irfan Yogi (Pharmacy 2019) in collaboration with culinary students from Malang State University. In addition to this product, the Student Organization booth was also designated as one of the best tenants. Fitriyani, as the deputy governor of DEMA FKIK, explained that the FKIK Carnival, which was conceptualized fun, DEMA FKIK was not introduced formally, but through x banner and the food products it provides. Mie Chypotes, an iconic product created by one of the FKIK DEMA administrators, boasts antidiabetic properties. It will be entered in a future competition.

One of the student food stalls interviewed was Laper Doc, which had a Halloween theme, fitting with the spicy menu favored by young people. Honey garlic and salad were the most popular dishes. Sistya and Siti Khusnul hope that the FKIK Carnival will be held again next year, as it has been very beneficial, especially in developing students' business skills.

Several UIN Malang FKIK students interviewed said the FKIK Carnival was a large, exciting, and lively event. Furthermore, the food sold at the booths was very youthful. The door prizes were also generous, making attending this inaugural FKIK Carnival a worthwhile experience. In addition to the students, Mr. Poni, representing the residents selling at the FKIK Carnival booths, also expressed his hope that the Carnival would continue in the future.

At the end of the activity, it was announced Best tenant The awards for this expo were given to Dr. Prida Ayudianti, Sp.KK, owner of PRD Official, which offers contemporary Muslim clothing; Whida Rositama, M.Hum., with the Choco & Friends booth; and the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences Student Association (DEMA FKIK).

Many hopes were expressed at the FKIK Carnival, a major event that would have a positive impact, not only on the academic community but also on the local community. Hopefully, these hopes will be fulfilled, and FKIK UIN Malang will continue to spread its benefits to the surrounding area.
