UIN Malang FKIK students have achieved success in the 2022 Radar Malang Hijab Ambassador (DHRM) selection event. Usrin Amirawati (familiarly called Ira) from the 2019 class of Medical Education was crowned Runner Up (RU) 2 for the 2022 Radar Malang Hijab Ambassador after battling against 129 other participants. "My motivation for joining DHRM is because DHRM is a place for Muslim women to grow up. Besides that, I also like writing. So, I am sure that at DHRM, my writing skills will be further upgraded," said Ira when contacted online on Wednesday, (16/3/22).

DHRM is an annual event organized by Jawa Pos Radar Malang. This event is intended for Muslim women aged 16-25 years old who possess the following characteristics: attractive personality and appearance, noble morals, and broad insight. Usrin underwent a lengthy selection process. She underwent each stage of the selection process, starting with registration in early December 2021, followed by a series of written tests, interviews, and online talent shows in January-February 2022. This beautiful Jember-born girl was selected as one of the top 20 finalists, who then underwent a quarantine period before competing again in the Grand Final. The 2022 DHRM Grand Final was held in a hybrid format at Giri Palma Villas on Saturday (March 5, 2022). Ira answered questions and answers (QnA) themed on issues occurring among Muslim women and hot topics in Malang City, which led to her becoming the RU 2 of DHRM 2022.

“"Thank God, I'm so happy. I never expected to be in this position. But I'm doing my best to fulfill my mandate as RU 2 DHRM 2022, amidst my equally important class schedule," Ira said. She acknowledged that DHRM is not a competition. beauty pageant This was the first time he participated. He previously had experience in several similar events, including the UIN Malang FKIK Ambassador, the Malang PERKI Ambassador, and the National PERKI Ambassador.

Of course, each ambassador election has its own unique characteristics. In between her sixth semester classes, Ira is also busy with practice, photoshoots, and quarantine leading up to the 2022 DHRM Grand Final.

The DHRM winners are expected to become role models for all Muslim women and demonstrate that wearing the hijab is not an obstacle to achieving their dreams. Furthermore, because DHRM is under the auspices of Radar Malang, they indirectly serve as ambassadors for Jawa Pos Radar Malang.

In closing, Ira offered a message to those who were still hesitant about participating in pageants or unsure about taking the next step. She reminded them that everyone has an equal opportunity.
