Malang – Maulana Malik Ibrahim State Islamic University (UIN) Malang participated in the Health and Social Service activities of the Alumni of the Indonesian Armed Forces Academy (AKABRI) Class of 91 at the Al-Ikhlas Putra Orphanage Islamic Boarding School, Gunungrejo Village, Singosari District, Malang Regency, Saturday (21/10/2023).
UIN Malang sent eight doctors to assist with healthcare services for residents and students at the Al-Ikhlas Orphanage Islamic Boarding School, and five doctors to assist with healthcare services at Rampal Field. These community service activities were carried out simultaneously at two locations: Rampal Field and Al-Ikhlas Islamic Boarding School.
The health service activities at the Al-Ikhlas Islamic Boarding School in Singosari, led by KH. Muhammad Ali Zubair, provide various types of health services, including General Polyclinic, Dental Polyclinic, Neurology Polyclinic, Skin and Venereology Polyclinic, ENT-KL Polyclinic, and Circumcision.
Doctor Yeremi, the Field Officer at Bhayangkara Hasta Brata Batu Hospital, revealed that 1,000 residents and students of the Al-Ikhlas Islamic Boarding School received free healthcare services as part of this community service activity. They came from Islamic boarding schools in Singosari District, primarily students of Al-Ikhlas Islamic Boarding School, and the surrounding community. Meanwhile, approximately 10,000 participants attended the activity at Rampal Field.
Meanwhile, at Rampal Field in Malang City, various health services are available to the public, including general medical treatment, specialist treatment, laboratory tests, nutrition consultations, a cataract car, a dental car, a surgical car, a chamber car, family planning services for pregnant women, stunting prevention, visual acuity, tattoo removal, physiotherapy, blood donation, and circumcision. Activities at Rampal Field involved 85 volunteers, including dentists, nurses, other health workers, Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) officers, Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) personnel, and non-healthcare volunteers. They enthusiastically provided health services to the community as a form of devotion. In addition, all participants received social assistance in the form of basic food packages.
With assistance from UIN Malang, it is hoped that more residents and students will have access to free healthcare services through the AKABRI 91 Alumni Health Service program. UIN Malang's participation is a concrete manifestation of the university's dedication to the community.
