The Quality Assurance Unit (UPM) of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FKIK) of UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang held a Quality Standards Development Workshop from Monday (17/07/2023) to Thursday (20/07/2023). Held in the Minihall of the Ibnu Thufail Building, FKIK UIN Malang, the activity began at 8:30 a.m. and was attended by the Dean and Vice Deans, Heads of Study Programs and Secretaries of Study Programs within the FKIK environment, and the FKIK Quality Standards Development Team.

The Quality Standard Development Workshop activities on the first day (Tuesday) focused on the preparation of quality manuals and quality standards for the Medical Education and Medical Profession Study Programs. After being opened by the Dean of FKIK, Prof. Dr. dr. Yuyun Yueniewati PW, M.Kes., Sp.Rad (K), the event continued with a refresher of the Internal Quality Assurance System (SPMI) document by the head of the FKIK UIN Malang Quality Standard Development Team, apt. Hj. Alifia Putri Febriyanti, S.Farm., M.Farm.Klin. With the same agenda, the event on the second day (Tuesday) focused on the preparation of quality manuals and quality standards for the Pharmacy Study Program and Pharmacist Professional Education while the event on the third day (Thursday) focused on the preparation of quality manuals and quality standards for Education, Research, and Community Service.

Previously, the formulation team for each quality standard formulated quality standards for the update and during the workshop activities, the drafting team with guidance from facilitators will compile quality standards required by study programs and faculties, namely study program quality standards in the form of graduate competency standards, learning content standards, learning process standards, academic atmosphere standards, standards for the integration of research and community service into learning and learning monitoring and evaluation standards. Meanwhile, the education quality standards include lecturer standards, learning infrastructure standards, learning management standards, learning financing standards and leadership standards. For research standards include research outcome standards, research content standards, research process standards, research assessment standards, researcher standards, research infrastructure standards, research management standards, and financing and funding standards. For community service standards include outcome standards, content standards, process standards, assessment standards, implementation standards, infrastructure standards, management standards and funding and financing standards. After the compilation is done, the inspection team checks the quality standards that have been compiled.

The activities don't stop at developing quality standards. UPM will conduct further activities until mid-August, including finalizing the draft quality manual and quality standards, conducting an external review by the Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education (Kemenristekdikti), presenting the review results, revising the quality manual and quality standards, and finalizing the finalization.
