On Thursday, January 13, 2023, the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FKIK) of UIN Malang received a visit from MAN IC Pekalongan. The visit was welcomed by the Deputy Dean 2 of FKIK UIN Malang, Mr. Ach. Nasichuddin, MA, and the Deputy Dean 3 of FKIK UIN Malang, Dr. Alvi Milliana, M. Biomed., at the Ibnu Thufail Building.
FKIK UIN Malang presented a video profile screening starting from the establishment of the undergraduate pharmacy study program, the establishment of the Medical Education study program, the macro curriculum updates for the 2020 SKDI, to the presentation of the advantages of Hajj medicine.
In his remarks, Mr. Nasich said that UIN Malang is one of three UINs in Indonesia that has a medical faculty. "Currently, UIN Malang is developing its 3rd campus covering an area of 100 hectares. If the medical faculty enters in 2025, God willing, FKIK will have a new, better and more modern building." The presentation of the material and questions and answers were delivered by Dr. Alvi Milliana. He explained the various study programs, entry routes, and flagship programs of FKIK UIN Malang. "FKIK has 4 interrelated study programs: the Medical Education Study Program, the Medical Professional Study Program, the Pharmacy Education Study Program, and the Pharmacist Professional Study Program. There are 2 graduate outputs: namely doctors and pharmacists," explained Dr. Alvi.
The next series of events is an introduction and questions and answers about FKIK UIN Malang, then closed with campus tour. This short visit is expected to increase the enthusiasm of MAN IC students in getting to know the majors they will choose later, especially Medicine and Pharmacy.
Interviewed directly, Mr. Budi Utomo, S.Kom as the deputy head of facilities and infrastructure said that the background of MAN IC Pekalongan conducting a collaborative study to FKIK UIN Malang was to introduce UIN Malang, especially the Health department to MAN IC Pekalongan students with the hope of increasing students' interest in UINs spread across Indonesia.
The campus tour was guided by FKIK Ambassadors. The students were divided into two groups of boys and two groups of girls. The Ambassadors kindly explained the Pharmacy and Medical Buildings. Haritsza Adnindya, a student from MAN IC Pekalongan, said, "We were also shown around the buildings and laboratories here. This gave us a better understanding of the UIN Malang campus. The FKIK campus offers everything it offers, and its programs. It was well explained.".
