UIN Malang Library collaborates with several journal publisher the largest in the world, including Proquest Database, Springer Journals, Emerald Journals and SAGE Journals holding e-journal socialization accompanied by training online database for lecturers and academics of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, UIN Malang. This training and socialization was held on Wednesday, February 22, 2017, at the Hall of the 3rd Floor Shelter House, Campus 2, UIN Malang. The implementation of this socialization and training invited resource person Mrs. Nelly Arifyani, a representative from Springer Nature.
In his remarks, Dr. dr. Achdiat Agoes, Sp.S, as the Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs of FKIK UIN Malang, stated that "Efforts to improve academic quality assurance and the quality of learning in Higher Education are very necessary. In addition, it is also necessary to improve the academic atmosphere by improving the quality of lecturer and student research for international publications. This is very necessary to encourage the creativity of both students and lecturers to increase scientific insight and cultivate research talents from an early age and open global insights through searching for references from various sources (Journal International). In addition to creativity, ideas, academic abilities of lecturers as well as building a research atmosphere, writing and publishing the results of their research in international scientific forums (both journals and international scientific meetings)”.
“E-journal The subscriptions to UIN Malang must be utilized to the maximum by the academic community. It would be a shame if these expensive e-journals were wasted. Therefore, with this outreach activity, it is hoped that the entire academic community will become more familiar with and aware of the existence of access. international e-journal subscribed to by UIN Malang, while maximizing its utilization for the need for reliable and quality scientific reference sources for research and so on," he added.
During the socialization, Ms. Nelly A stated that scientific journals managed by universities in Indonesia still face difficulties in upgrading to international journals. One of the main obstacles faced is quality and funding. Generally, the problem is getting the journals listed on websites. Scopus, which is a site web database abstract and citation The largest source of data is peer-reviewed literature. Ms. Nelly A also provided tips on how to submit to international journals, including preparing documents before submitting to the journal, namely Covering letter (Main problem), Text manuscript (Title, Abstract, Introduction, Materials and Method, Results and Discussion, Conclusion, Acknowledgment, References, Figures caption), Tables and Figures. In addition, articles must be well written in accordance with the journal's format.
With training and socialization e-journal It is hoped that the entire academic community of UIN Malang, especially FKIK, can open their insights and creativity so that their research and writings can be published in international journals.
