Monday (23/08/2021), FKIK UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang held a Recitation and Orphanage Charity event in commemoration of the Islamic New Year 1 Muharram 1443 H. The event, which was held in a hybrid manner at the Ibnu Sina Mosque FKIK and Live Zoom meeting, was attended by some of the academic community of FKIK UIN Malang as well as orphans and the community around Campus III FKIK UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang.
Ach. Nashichuddin, MA, Vice Dean II of FKIK UIN Malang who delivered a speech representing the Dean of FKIK who was unable to attend said that the Recitation and Orphanage Donation event was held as a form of our gratitude to Allah SWT for the progress achieved by FKIK UIN Malang. The funds collected also came from voluntary alms from the academic community of FKIK UIN Malang collected by Baitul Maal Ibnu Sina FKIK UIN Malang. "In addition, by presenting and caring for the orphans around the FKIK campus, we also hope for the help of your prayers because in the near future, FKIK, especially the Medical Study Program, will face reaccreditation. Hopefully, with all our prayers, the PSPD Study Program will get the best accreditation results. Amen," he said.
The main event this afternoon featured Prof. Dr. Nur Asnawi, M.Ag., a professor at the Faculty of Economics at UIN Malang, to deliver a sermon. In his short lecture, Prof. Nur Asnawi emphasized the importance of jihad in today's modern era. According to him, striving to improve the quality of educational institutions through accreditation is also a form of jihad in the field of producing a superior generation of the nation. "The spirit of the month of Muharram is the spirit of jihad. Jihad to be better than before, especially in educating the next generation of the nation is an example of its implementation," said Prof. Nur Asnawi.
The event felt more solemn and lively with the recitation of sholawat (prayer) by the Banjari Dja'far Saifuddin group, which consisted mostly of students from the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang. The event closed with the distribution of charity packages to orphans and the recitation of prayers delivered directly by Prof. Nur Asnawi.
