Community service is one of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, this is very important as a concrete manifestation of the application of science in the field of health services in the community. Community service activities on this occasion were carried out on Sunday (9/10) which took place at the Sumber Sekar Village Hall, Dau District, Malang Regency. The health services carried out by the UIN Maliki Malang Medical Education Study Program were welcomed by Sumber Sekar residents who needed health services by coming to the service location, the committee provided a place to register for the queue to receive health services, from toddlers, pregnant women and the elderly.
Dr. Nurlaili Susanti, M.Biomed as the Head of the Medical Education Study Program at UIN Maliki Malang explained that the Health Service activities were attended by all lecturers, staff, and medical students, where students were tasked with conducting anamnesis on client complaints and checking vital signs, namely blood pressure and pulse. Meanwhile, the health team/lecturers participated in providing free treatment and counseling related to lifestyle and food (nutrition) management according to the client's illness using lectures and leaflets. She also added that the Community Service activities of the Medical Education Study Program with the theme "Together with UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang Towards a Healthy Indonesia" received attention and support not only from the campus but also the head of Sumber Sekar village, the Police Chief and the Danramil of Dau District, Malang Regency.
“"By engaging in community service activities with our children, we can take advantage of the opportunity to receive one-day health care. If we are ill, we should seek treatment to improve our physical health, including a healthy mind, and healthy activities," said the Village Head of Sumber Sekar.
Meanwhile, health service participant Sutrisno (56), a resident of Sumber Sekar, when met after receiving health services said, "The doctor and committee were very friendly and good at providing attention and service to the patient, so that the illness he was suffering from was examined and given treatment and the medication given was used according to instructions," said Sutrisno.
The hope for the future is that the UIN Maliki Malang Medical Education Study Program will produce students who are not only knowledgeable and skilled nationally but also competitive internationally. Increasingly, demands in all fields will be driven by the need to demonstrate the highest quality, especially in the healthcare sector.
