UIN Malang Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences Students Raise Funds for Palestine

BATU – The student organization of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FKIK) of UIN Malang is raising funds as a form of social responsibility for Palestinian victims of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. Many innocent Palestinians, especially children, have been impacted by the attacks. The environment, which should have been a place of worship, hospitals, and schools, has been completely destroyed by Israeli attacks since October 2023.

The solidarity action in support of Palestinian independence from the UIN Malang Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences Student Organization (ORMAWA) in raising funds received significant public attention and support, resulting in the successful collection of funds for donation to the Palestinian people. "This fundraising process is in handle Directly from us, SEMA FKIK UIN Malang, with regular donation reporting in the ORMAWA FKIK group, we share open donation pamphlets on social media and groups. WhatsApp and coordinate all FKIK ORMAWA to distribute the pamphlet to the general public, we will carry out this donation collection for 2 weeks," said Muhammad Abdulloh Umar as the chairman of SEMA FKIK UINMA.

On Tuesday (November 14, 2023), the donation funds were handed over to a national zakat collection institution, the Al-Falah Social Fund Foundation (YDSF) in Malang. This institution was selected and entrusted to help distribute donations to Palestinians affected by the conflict. According to Muhammad Abdulloh Umar, the selection of YDSF to distribute donations to Palestinians was a lengthy process and included direct surveys.

“"This aid for Palestine is one of the project "In the social and humanitarian field at the YDSF institution, we carry out this social and humanitarian work not only in Indonesia but also abroad, including Palestine, so we will continue our struggle to help our brothers and sisters in Palestine until they are free," said Hairunisa Rismawati as Manager of Marketing and Communication at YDSF Malang.

The handover of donation funds was carried out by the representative of ORMAWA FKIK, namely Muhammad Abdulloh Umar as the chairman of SEMA FKIK to the Manager of Markom YDSF Malang, Hairunisa Rismawati. The process of handing over the donation funds was also attended by the dean of FKIK UINMA, namely Prof. Dr. dr. Yuyun Yueniwati PW., M. Kes., Sp.Rad (K), Deputy Dean 3 for Student Affairs and Cooperation, dr. Alvi Milliana, M.Biomed, Secretary of the Medical Education Study Program, Mr. Yossi Indra Kusuma, S.Ked., M.Med.Ed., and the chairman of DEMA FKIK UINMA, Razzaq Widagdo.

“"I am very proud of the social care actions of you FKIK students who have taken the initiative to raise funds for Palestine, I hope that this activity will not just stop here, please continue to help our brothers and sisters or friends who are in trouble," responded Prof. Dr. dr. Yuyun Yueniwati PW., M. Kes., Sp.Rad(K) as the dean of FKIK UINMA.

The process of distributing donations to Palestine is entirely handed over to the YDSF Institute, which will distribute them according to the needs of the Palestinian people, especially for adequate staple foods and the availability of clean water.
