The State Islamic University (UIN) Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang inaugurated its educational pharmacy named “Maliki Apotek” on Wednesday, June 18, 2025. The pharmacy, located at Jl. RA. Kartini No. 41 RT.05 RW.01 Dusun Junwatu, Junrejo Village/Sub-district, Junrejo District, Batu City, is specifically designed as a learning platform for students of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FKIK). With the slogan “Serving with Heart, True Healthy Friend”, This pharmacy not only functions as a place for student practice, but also serves as a manifestation of the university's commitment to providing quality health services to the community.

The grand opening ceremony was attended by the Rector of UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang, Prof. Dr. M. Zainuddin, MA., the Vice Rector for Cooperation and Institutional Development, Dr. H. Isroqunnajah, M.Ag., and their staff. Also present at the event were local village officials, the police, the entire academic community of FKIK UIN Malang, and the local community who enthusiastically witnessed the inauguration of this educational pharmacy.

The series of events began with the opening and singing of the Indonesian national anthem, followed by remarks from the Rector of UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang, Prof. Dr. M. Zainuddin, MA. In his remarks, he expressed his high hopes for this pharmacy. "Hopefully this inauguration will be the beginning of the continuation of the UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim healthy house. Besides that, I am very happy that this pharmacy has officially opened so that it can become a pharmacy that provides benefits to the surrounding community," he said.

The grand opening ceremony continued with a prayer led by the Vice Rector for Cooperation and Institutional Development, Dr. H. Isroqunnajah, M.Ag., to ask for God's blessings upon the opening of Maliki Pharmacy, ensuring its continued benefit to the community and education sector. Following the solemn prayer, the ceremony continued with a symbolic ribbon-cutting ceremony, marking the official opening of Maliki Pharmacy and its readiness to serve the community's pharmaceutical needs.

The invited guests were then invited to inspect the Maliki Educational Pharmacy facilities to see firsthand the facilities and infrastructure that have been prepared to support the learning process of pharmacy students.

Meanwhile, Prof. Dr. dr. Yuyun Yueniwati, PW., M.Kes., Sp.Rad(K), as Dean of FKIK, emphasized the importance of this pharmacy as a place of practical learning for students. "As the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, of course we need a place where our students can carry out useful activities, namely in this pharmacy," she said. The Dean added that in the future there will be various activities such as community service, joint sports, and student activities involving local residents so that FKIK is better known to the community. According to her, this is a real manifestation of the commitment to providing quality and affordable health services to the community.

Dr. Apt. Rahmi Annisa, M.Farm., as the Head of the Pharmacist Professional Study Program, in a special interview explained that Maliki Pharmacy is an educational pharmacy that has been designed since 2019 and will only be realized in 2025. "This pharmacy will be a practice area, especially at the Integrative Field Work Practice (PKLI) stage at the academic stage or the S1 Pharmacy stage, then it will become a place for Pharmacist Professional Work Practice or what is known as PKPA," she explained. In addition to being a place for practice, this pharmacy is also expected to be a place for direct role play for students in the learning process. The presence of this pharmacy has received full support from the university, faculty, and the Association of Parents of Students of FKIK UIN Malang.

The inauguration of Maliki Pharmacy is expected to be an important milestone in the development of pharmacy education at UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang, while also providing a real contribution to public health services in the Batu City area and its surroundings.
