Joint Circumcision to Celebrate the 59th Anniversary of Maulidiyah UIN Malang
As a form of gratitude to Allah SWT for all the achievements that UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang has successfully obtained since its establishment 59 years ago, the academic community of FKIK UIN Malang also contributed to the mass circumcision event which was one of a series of events to commemorate the 59th anniversary of UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang. The activity was held on Friday (16/10/2020) and Saturday (17/10/2020) involving doctors, nurses, young doctors, and the Medical Assistance Team. Rhazes Medical Team all of which come from teaching staff, administrative staff, and students of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FKIK) UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang.
This Mass Circumcision activity was attended by 25 children from various areas in Malang City, Malang Regency and Batu City starting from Tumpang, Singosari, to Gondanglegi Districts, however the majority of participants still came from Islamic schools and TPQ located in the area around the UIN Malang campus. With the high enthusiasm of the community, this event had to be held for 2 days, with 6 circumcision participants on the first day and 19 participants on the next day. The second day's activities were more lively but still adhered to the applicable health protocols for preventing the transmission of COVID-19. Held at the FKIK UIN Malang Campus, the participants were not only treated to musical performances and prizes but also accompanied by senior students from the Faculty of Psychology UIN Malang who are members of the Playing with Children (BANANA) community so that the participants became more relaxed and happy before undergoing the circumcision process.
Slightly different from mass circumcision activities in previous years, this year's Mass Circumcision event was held in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, so that in the initial stage (D-7 of the activity) a health screening process was carried out first and home visit conducted by the committee for each participant who will undergo circumcision. Not only that, on D+1 after the circumcision, it is also carried out home visit back by Rhazes Medical Team under the supervision of Dr. Christyaji Indradmojo, Sp.EM.
“Home visit Post-circumcision care is important because it not only aims to control the patient's wounds but also hones medical skills and fosters a caring attitude among the students of the Faculty of Medicine, UIN Malang." Dr. Chris explained, "In addition, we utilize home visit This is to re-educate the community which is now starting to be in a state of saturation (burnout) so that without realizing it, they start to become careless in implementing the COVID-19 prevention health protocols."”
