Tuesday (8/11), was a happy day for the entire academic community of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang, because soon the long-awaited new study program will be established, namely the Pharmacist Professional Education Study Program (PSPPA) FKIK UIN Malang. As a form of gratitude to the presence of Allah SWT, FKIK UIN Malang held a thanksgiving and charity event for orphans and the poor in the Sebaguna Room, 3rd floor, Al Biruni Building, Campus 3 FKIK UIN Malang. The event was attended by the Chancellor and staff, the Chair of the University Senate, the Deans at UIN Malang, representatives of the student parent association, and the entire academic community of FKIK UIN Malang.
The journey of establishing the PSPPA FKIK UIN Malang is quite long and full of struggles. As of August 31, 2018, a team was formed to compile the form for proposing the establishment of a new study program. In his remarks, the Vice Dean 1 for Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. Apt. Roihatul Mutiah, SF, M.Kes, said that since December 28, 2019, the UIN Malang Pharmacy Study Program had actually succeeded in obtaining a recommendation from the Indonesian Pharmaceutical College Association (APTFI) through a long application and visitation process. Armed with the recommendation letter, UIN Malang then submitted the establishment of the study program to the Ministry of Research and Technology (at that time) of the Republic of Indonesia. However, during the period of late 2019 until one year later, permission for the opening of the study program was still not obtained. Efforts for 2 years continued to be made, starting from sending letters, hearings, to visitations were carried out in order to be granted permission to open the study program. All praise is due to Allâh, the Lord of the Worlds, finally on October 14, 2022, the status in the Higher Education Institutional Licensing Service Information System (SILEMKERMA) has changed to 'recommended', followed by the issuance of the Decree of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology No. 778/E/O/2022 dated October 24, 2022, which also marked the establishment of the Pharmacist Professional Study Program at UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang.
Prof. Dr. HA Muhtadi Ridwan, M.Ag, Chairman of the University Senate in his remarks expressed his appreciation for the success of FKIK UIN Malang, which despite being only 6 years old, has been able to achieve many achievements ranging from increasing the accreditation of the Medical Education Study Program and the Medical Profession to the Establishment of the Pharmacist Professional Education Study Program. "I advise all FKIK members to maintain the spirit of 'pioneers', who are always enthusiastic in fighting for the progress of the institution," added Prof. Muhtadi. The Thanksgiving event for the Establishment of the Pharmacist Professional Education Study Program at UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang was also attended by the Rector, Prof. Dr. HM Zainuddin, MA "After we will now graduate doctors, then later pharmacists, hopefully these doctors and pharmacists who graduated from UIN Malang will become trustworthy, professional and have good morals," said Prof. Zain before opening the charity event for orphans and the poor.
