Malang – In an effort to improve the quality of research and scientific publications in the academic environment, the Research and Community Service Unit (UPPM) of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FKIK) of UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang held a Workshop on Compiling Research Funding Proposals and Writing Scientific Publications to International Standards. This activity is part of FKIK's commitment to strengthening research culture and encouraging increased productivity of globally competitive scientific publications.

This workshop is designed as an ongoing mentoring program that not only provides theoretical material but also facilitates participants through the process of developing research proposals and preparing scientific publications. Embracing the spirit of "“FKIK Goes International”"This activity is expected to improve students' ability to produce high-quality scientific work that can penetrate national funding schemes and achieve internationally reputable publications. This activity is conducted both online and offline, making it easier to reach an audience.

This activity was opened directly by the Dean of FKIK UIN Malang, Prof. Dr. dr. Yuyun Yueniwati PW, M.Kes, Sp.Rad(K). In her remarks, Prof. Yuyun expressed her hope that this activity would be very beneficial for students.

“"This activity is not only beneficial for lecturers, but also for students who need publications. Therefore, I am very happy with this event. And I hope that by the end of the event, it will have increased the knowledge of the audience," said Prof. Yuyun in her remarks.

This activity is divided into 3 sessions, session 1 was held on Monday, May 25, 2026. In this session, participants received material from Dr. apt. Burhan Ma'arif ZA., M.Farm. regarding Strategies for Compiling Research Proposals to Get Funding from BRIN. The material discusses various strategies in designing competitive research proposals, starting from identifying research issues, preparing a strong methodology, to techniques for adjusting proposals to the assessment criteria of funding institutions. In addition, participants also received a presentation from Dr. dr. Ermin Rachmawati, M.Biomed. regarding Strategies for Writing International Standard Scientific Publications. In this session, participants were equipped with an understanding of the systematic preparation of scientific manuscripts, selecting the right journal, and strategies to increase the chances of articles being accepted in internationally reputable journals.

With the presence of experienced speakers in research and scientific publications, this workshop offers a practical and applicable approach. Participants gain not only conceptual insights but also direct guidance in developing high-quality academic outputs. Certificates are awarded to participants as a token of appreciation for their participation and commitment to improving their academic competency.

This workshop is one of the strategic steps taken by the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FKIK) of UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang to strengthen a productive, innovative, and internationally oriented research ecosystem. By improving the quality of research proposals and scientific publications, FKIK hopes to contribute more to the development of science and public health, as well as achieving the institution's vision of becoming a leading center for education and research at the national and global levels.
