The Faculty of Medicine, Islamic University of Indonesia (FK UII) Yogyakarta conducted benchmarking or comparative study with the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FKIK) UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang via Zoom Meeting on Tuesday (February 14th). The purpose of this activity was to conduct a comparative study regarding the implementation of the Hajj Health curriculum within the FKIK UIN Malang environment. The event was attended by the leadership of the Faculty of Medicine UII, the leadership of the FKIK UIN Malang, the UMHPE unit, the UPKF, and the Hajj Health Department of the FKIK UIN Malang.
The event began with an opening remarks, then moved on to the main event: a presentation of the Hajj health curriculum by Dr. Rizal Novianto, MHPE, a faculty member of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at UIN Malang, and a presentation of the Hajj health curriculum by the Faculty of Medicine at UII. In addition to the presentation, the session also included a discussion and question-and-answer session.
The benefits of this activity can certainly be used as an event sharing and exchanged opinions regarding the smooth implementation of the Hajj health curriculum. "This event is a crucial moment considering that FKIK UIN's flagship program is Hajj health. Therefore, this comparative study can also be an opportunity to increase campus recognition, especially regarding our excellence," said Dr. dr. Ermin Rahmawati, M.Biomed, Head of UMHPE FKIK UIN Malang.
The design of the Hajj health curriculum at FKIK UIN targets the management of Hajj pilgrims from upstream to downstream, starting from providing material in the Hajj medical block, IPE 1, IPE 2 and direct learning to prospective Hajj pilgrims in the Hajj Inter Professional Education (HIPE) program based on project-based learning through a family medicine approach with a targeted waiting period. At the professional stage, students are directly involved in examinations upon departure and upon arrival. UIN Malang's existing partnerships with the Batu City Health Office, the Batu Health Center (Puskesmas), the Health Center (Puskeshaji), the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (KKP), and the Ministry of Religious Affairs are highly supportive.
“"The Faculty of Medicine, UII, appears enthusiastic about the design of the Hajj health curriculum at the Faculty of Medicine, UIN, and its implementation, as well as the strategies adopted to realize it, particularly in terms of collaboration with relevant agencies," concluded Dr. Ermin.
