The Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, UIN Malang, signed a cooperation agreement with the Faculty of Medicine, Universiti Putra Malaysia.

Selangor-Wednesday (3/5/2023), Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences State Islamic University of Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang (FKIK UIN Malang) is strengthening its relationship with the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Universiti Putra Malaysia (FPSK UPM) through a collaboration signed by the Dean of FKIK UIN Malang. The signing ceremony was attended by Prof. Dr. dr. Yuyun Yueniwati PW, M.Kes., Sp.Rad(K) from FKIK UIN Malang with Professor Dr. Rukman Awang Hamat from FPSK UPM at the main building of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Universiti Putra Malaysia, Serdang, Selangor, Malaysia. Also present at the event were Deputy Dean III of FKIK UIN Malang, dr. Alvi Milliana, M.Biomed., Secretary of the Pharmacist Profession Study Program, FKIK UIN Malang, apt. Alif Firman Firdausy, S.Farm., M.Biomed, and dr. Abdul Malik Setiawan, M.Infect.Dis from the Medical Education Study Program, FKIK UIN Malang, Prof. Madya Dr. Ezamin bin Abdul Rahim from the UPM FPSK Cooperation section along with other UPM officials and staff.

The signing of the Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with FPSK Universiti Putra Malaysia, according to Prof. Yuyun, is a momentum where FKIK can continue and strengthen the good relationship that has been established between UIN Malang and UPM. This collaboration also provides opportunities to develop various aspects including the field of human resource development. "As we all know, UPM is one of the universities with an international reputation, proven by being ranked 123rd in the world according to QS-WUR in 2023, therefore this collaboration will be able to increase the level of FKIK UIN Malang if utilized properly," said Prof. Yuyun.

Deputy Dean III for Student Affairs and Cooperation of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, UIN Malang, Dr. Alvi Milliana, M.Biomed., stated that the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, UIN Malang, fully supports international collaboration.

“"This collaboration is mutually beneficial for both parties. We hope to be able to send lecturers and students to each other through exchange programs and expert lectures. It's important to note that in previous years, we have experience conducting activities involving UPM lecturers and researchers. These include speaking engagements at seminars and conferences, research collaborations, and visiting professor programs," explained Dr. Alvi.

Professor Dr. Rukman Awang Hamat, Deputy Dean for Cooperation at FPSK UPM, welcomed the successful collaboration with FKIK UIN Malang. In his presentation, Prof. Rukman mentioned at least three points of collaboration that could be realized, namely: expert lectures, research collaboration, and staff/student exchange.
