The activity, which took place at the Pratama Clinic of UIN Malang Campus I, is one of the important stages that must be followed by all prospective students of the Medical Education Study Program and Bachelor of Pharmacy before re-registering. This health test is part of FKIK's commitment to preparing prospective health workers who are not only academically superior, but also have prime physical and mental conditions. Based on the official announcement of the faculty, the results of the health test will be announced on June 25, 2026.

The health screening session was filled with enthusiasm among prospective students from various regions across Indonesia. Since morning, participants followed the examination process, which had been systematically and professionally designed by the FKIK health team. The comprehensive examination was conducted to ensure each prospective student met the health standards required for their education in the health sector. This step also served as a preventative measure to support students' future academic success.

In a special interview, Dr. Ikrimah explained that the primary purpose of the health screening is to assess the physical and mental health of prospective students from the outset. According to him, the results of the screening can serve as a basis for study programs to provide support and make adjustments if health conditions requiring special attention are identified. This ensures the educational process can proceed optimally, tailored to each student's individual needs. Health screenings also assist the university in preparing a safe and supportive learning environment for all students.

Furthermore, Dr. Ikrimah emphasized that the health test is a mandatory step because it is a very important initial screening process in the new student admission process. This is especially true for health study programs such as Medical Education and Pharmacy, which have academic demands, practical work, and interaction with laboratory and clinical environments. One of the requirements that must be met is not experiencing color blindness, either partial or total, as this condition can affect the implementation of learning and future professional competency. If certain conditions are found, the campus will consider policies in accordance with applicable regulations. These requirements are also stated in the FKIK health test passing regulations.

The series of examinations that participants undergo include vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and body temperature, a general physical examination, a color blindness test, an eye examination, an ENT examination, a drug examination, laboratory tests, a chest X-ray, a cardiac recording (ECG), and a mental health examination. However, there are several differences in the examinations between the Medical Education Study Program and the Bachelor of Pharmacy Study Program. In the Medical Education Study Program, participants are required to undergo an EKG and a complete laboratory examination, while in the Pharmacy Study Program, these two examinations are not performed. These differences are adjusted to the needs and characteristics of each study program.

According to Dr. Ikrimah, health screenings are crucial because healthcare students will interact directly with patients, in clinical settings, and in laboratories, requiring both physical and mental preparedness. Optimal health not only supports successful learning but also contributes to professional responsibility in maintaining patient safety and the workplace. Therefore, health screenings are not merely an administrative formality, but rather an initial investment in developing competent and responsible healthcare professionals.

At the end of the interview, Dr. Ikrimah delivered an inspiring message to all prospective new students who had successfully passed the SNBT selection. "We congratulate all prospective students who have successfully passed the selection process. Take the health test honestly and calmly, because this examination is not to find fault, but rather to ensure that health conditions are known from the start. Use the results of the examination as the first step in maintaining health throughout your education. Stay enthusiastic, adopt a healthy lifestyle, and prepare yourself to become a professional health worker who is beneficial to the community," she said.

The implementation of this health test is a clear demonstration of the seriousness of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FKIK) of UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang in maintaining the quality of education since the new student admission process. Through a comprehensive health screening, FKIK hopes to produce a future generation of doctors and pharmacists who are not only intellectually intelligent, but also healthy, resilient, and ready to serve the health of the Indonesian people. With a good initial step, FKIK is optimistic that prospective students will grow into health professionals with integrity and professionalism, and bring benefits to the nation and humanity.

Contributor: Rizki Maulana Akbar (PSSF 2024)

Malang – Fakultas Kedokteran dan Ilmu Kesehatan (FKIK) UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang kembali menyelenggarakan Tes Kesehatan bagi Calon Mahasiswa Baru (Camaba) jalur SNBT Tahun 2026 pada 17–18 Juni 2026.
