Friday (26\/8\/2022) the signing of the MOU and a guest lecture by the Chairman of the General Election Commission (KPU) of the Republic of Indonesia for the 2022-2027 period and the Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Indonesia took place in the 4th Floor Hall of the Rectorate Building. This activity, which is aimed at new students for the 2022\/2023 Academic Year, was also broadcast live streaming<\/em> via the official UIN Malang YouTube channel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The program started with the reading of the holy verses of the Koran by Elia Hikmawati, a student. State Islamic University of Malang<\/a> Gresik Regency Youth MTQ Champion 2020. Next, the audience solemnly sang the Indonesian national anthem and followed the recitation of prayers. This event was attended by Mr. Hasyim Asy'ari, SH, M.Si., Ph.D as Chairman of the Indonesian General Elections Commission (KPU) and Dr. Anwar Usman, SH., MH, Chief Justice of the Indonesian Constitutional Court. As an opening, the initial remarks were delivered by the Rector of UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang, Prof. Dr. Zainudin, MA. After the remarks were completed, the signing of a cooperation agreement was carried out between State Islamic University of Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang<\/a> with the Indonesian General Elections Commission (KPU RI) conducted by the Chancellor Maulana Malik Ibrahim State Islamic University<\/a> and the Chairman of the Indonesian General Elections Commission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The implementation of the Guest Lecture with the theme "Political Education and Maturation for Students for the Sake of an Integrated 2024 Election" was guided by Moderator Mr. Mustofa Lutfi, S.Pd, SH, MH. The first material was delivered by the chairman of the KPU, Mr. Hasyim Asy'ari SH, M.Si., Ph.D. and continued with a question and answer session from students. The question and answer session was interactive with a new student from Jombang named Sinta Adelia who asked a question about the reason for changing the name of "UIN MALANG" to "UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang". The Chancellor State Islamic University of Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang<\/a> directly responding to the question asked, that the reason for the name change was to adopt the name of a person saints<\/em>, Maulana Malik Ibrahim who is the guardian of the guardians. It is hoped that students can interpret this name, so that even though State Islamic University of Malang<\/a> is a branch of the State Islamic University, the same as other UINs, however State Islamic University of Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang<\/a> can be number one. The presentation of the material was then continued by the Chairman of the KPU, Mr. Hasyim Asy'ari, SH, M.Sc., Ph.D. At the end of the guest lecture, he said that, "All of us as citizens of Indonesia or who also happen to be Muslims with Indonesian citizenship have a big contribution to the development of democracy in Indonesia and in the world, and the key word is to participate. Therefore, students who are over 17 years old who have the right to vote, let's become voters and KPPS through the independent campus program.". \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
